Before October 7th (around September of 2023) Ethan was starting to push back against Hasan for his antipathy towards Georgia (the country), Ukraine, Tibet, and Taiwan (all countries (except for Tibet, fuck Tibet) that have faced threats of imperialism by the Axis of Resistance). Weirdly, I couldn't find the actual episode of Leftovers (it might have been just some segments), but a bunch of Vaush reactions did pop up on Google (which I didn't watch because I don't like horsefuckers, pedophiles, or pedophile horsefuckers).
Here's
a post by a Taiwanese guy (not me) on the h3 subreddit from back then.
It's another one of those weird cosmic coincidences that Ethan happened to be finding his spine to stand up to Hasan just a month before the conflict blew up, though I think the triggering incident for Ethan's spine was (weirdly enough) his debate with xQc about fair use, a subject that Ethan was very well-informed on and felt comfortable pushing back when Hasan tried to claim that low-effort react content was good actually.
