The thing that makes this different from Canada is that the Coalition was already very weak in Aus before Trump went full retard, so it was just another one of the "death of 1000 cuts" they dealt with. I think the Coalition Work from Home war alone did them more damage then Trump.
Unfortunately, it looks likely the Liberals will double down on targeting the far right in Queensland, instead of NSW and Victoria where they desperately need seats. Even with Dutton gone I don't think much will change.

I find it hilarious when the boomers complain about gun laws and I get to remind them that the reason that can't have a 8 round magazine on the lever action shot gun is because of their lord and saviour John Howard.
And it's possibly the only good thing he's done. I don't like how strict the laws are that he put in place but he stopped what could have been horrible mass shootings in Australia from ever happening again.
