I really don’t understand why Becky wanted to have a kid so badly when she seems to dislike and actively avoid pretty much any part of having a kid. She’s as transparent as she is over-the-hill. Yesterday she’s all “Us, by which I mean ME AND MY MUCH YOUNGER BOYFRIEND,” and now that hasn’t turned Daniel green with envy, she’s acting like Sam doesn’t even exist (also Jackson, but she takes him for granted anyway).

What would be utterly hilarious would be if her screeching jealousy about Daniel drove Sam away, so each relationship destroyed the other.

It wouldn't surprise me if the money situation played a heavy role in Daniel going this way. Yes all three of them are on the mortgage, but Daniel was the only one working for a good while. Now just imagine the scene of Daniel being a good Kraut and saying they need to cut expenses to not get thrown out of the house. Because Becky is who she is, and thus legitimately too fucking retarded and narcissistic to admit to the situation, she instead hears one of the men in her life telling her "no" as she whines for Disney, weed, and other shit. Then Daniel might tell her to spend some time with thr baby she so desperately yearned for, and they spent tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to bring into existence. But instead she starts ho'ing around and bringing strays into the house. The house he's the only one paying for, and now the strays are eating the food he pays for. He might have been able to excuse it when it was just the throuple plus Hannah. But when you're the only thing keeping the household warm and fed, and all you get is one of the others bitching about how vile you are, while crying poor, and bringing in strangers to the already crippled house.

I'd dare to say that kind of weight as well as fearing for the well-being of your child is what helped break the spell.

Sure Jackson is working now, for God knows how long, but that time when Daniel was the only thing keeping the lights on was probably enough to break free of his mental prison. Because if he didn't put the big boy pants on, they're out of the house. He had to be an adult, and do adulting things, like telling the spoiled bitch "No."

Just a theory, but hoping he continues to separate from her and hopefully saves his child as well.

These are defining traits of classic BPD. I'm following this thread primarily because she's such a fascinating case study, it's like watching gorillas in the mist for me.

Sure everyone knows about the DSM-IV picture of BPD, but there is a lot more to it than those criteria. It's not just a disorder of dysregulated emotions, or even of emotional dysregulation plus abnormal attachment style. It's a whole way of viewing the world, oneself, and others that is so markedly abnormal the classical psychoanalysts viewed it as being on the "borderline" between garden variety neurosis and "the weatherman is telling me to kill myself" psychosis.

Difficulty with object permanence is part of why they have so much trouble with relationships and such fear of abandonment. You can see how this often goes back to childhood attachment problems- if it's a real question whether or not mom is coming home from the grocery store because she's a druggie who leaves you with randoms and takes off for months at a time, then the sense of trust that people who we love go away, but they will come back later never develops properly.

From what I’ve observed, the kind of people who always agree with Becky tend to do so because they expect the same behavior in return. They want the freedom to lie without consequences and to be rewarded for it, so they encourage others’ dishonesty in hopes that their own will be accepted as well.

So Daniel wanted a baby FIRST because he hoped it would calm her. So the situation he was trying to calm was somehow made better by Becky having a Daniel-specific baby first. This makes me think the "calm her" must refer to either her being freaked out Daniel would leave her or maybe her collecting greasy sex partners? Like, hey, we are ESTABLISHED as a couple, you don't need to constantly find other dudes to fuck out of fear of abandonment.

For those wondering if Daniel or any Cuck is allowed another girlfriend - she seems to let Jack, likely bc she isn't actually attracted to him anymore so she couldn't care less. My impression is that she was/is actually into Daniel, particularly bc of his "status" as a game dev and his salary. SAD was likely an attempt to get attention from Daniel that got away from her (again, just my opinion, man). Daniel wasn't allowed to have a girlfriend because Becky didn't have him as locked down as Jack and she was (rightfully) worried a somewhat normal woman would "steal" him.
