A fundraiser created by the user "Shiloh Hendrix" has raised more than $125,000 to help her family relocate after claiming the viral video led to their address, names and her Social Security number to be leaked.​

ROCHESTER — The woman who allegedly directed a racial slur toward a child in a viral TikTok video has raised more than $125,000 for herself and her two children, according to a campaign on GiveSendGo.

A crowdfunding campaign titled "Help Me Protect My Family" was created by the user "Shiloh Hendrix" on Thursday afternoon, May 1. Hendrix claims her Social Security number, home address, phone number and place she works out have all been leaked to the public. The fundraising goal is set for $150,000.

"I am asking for your help to assist in protecting my family. I fear that we must relocate," the campaign said. "I have two small children who do not deserve this. We have been threatened to the extreme by people online. Anything will help! We cannot, and will not live in fear!"

The video depicted a man, who is not white, confronting the woman for calling a Black child a racial slur. Though the original video was taken down, Michael McWhorter, known online as TizzyEnt, reposted the video on Wednesday, April 30, to his more than 9.5 million followers across TikTok , Instagram , X and YouTube.

In her campaign, Hendrix claims the child stole from her 18-month-old son’s diaper bag at the Soldiers Field Park playground.

“I called the kid out for what he was,” Hendrix wrote.

As of Thursday night, the fundraiser has received more than 4,000 donations.

The video has since received millions of views, with McWhorter’s repost receiving 8.2 million views. Local leaders in Rochester have also responded to the video.

The Rochester Branch of the NAACP called on the Rochester Police Department and the Olmsted County Attorney’s Office to investigate the incident and file necessary charges. Rochester Mayor Kim Norton urged Rochester residents to do all they can to “end racism in this community.” DFL state lawmakers representing Rochester issued a joint statement condemning the “vile acts of racism” and said they were grateful that the person taking the video stepped in.

On the crowdfunding page, Hendrix alleges the individual who stepped in to film the video proceeded to follow her to her car and claims he has a criminal history. The Post Bulletin has not yet been able to identify the person who filmed the video. The TikTok account of the original poster has since been privated.

According to Minnesota Court Records Online, Hendrix was convicted of a misdemeanor DWI in 2014 and a petty misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct in 2012.

RPD is aware of the video and has received multiple calls related to it, RPD’s Amanda Grayson previously told the Post Bulletin. The police department is “actively looking into the matter.”

On a more serious note, I do have to feel bad for the kids born into these situations and the absolutely HORRIFIC violence, drug abuse, and other degen behavior they witness every.single.day.

While I clearly don't agree with many (most?) of the posters in this thread, I think you are minimizing the meaning of the fundraiser.

I see it as a sort of strike fund that works as insurance against cancellation. It worked for trans issues in the UK, where people could fundraise tens of thousands to pay a lawyer to sue their employer for wrongful termination. (This is just an example, there are many throughout history)

While I agree with the fact that there is a moral and mental decay happening, I think this case speaks more about the frustration of white americans and how race relations are now a team sport of us vs them, where principles are out the window.
I think the issue behind this fundraiser is mostly the media fanning the flames of interracial conflict, and to a lesser degree real policies that are also objectively unfair (see bond laws, sentences guidelines to protect the "youth"). The issue is that the media treats white americans as stupid, they keep ridiculing any dissenting opinions or concern regarding those unfair policies. It's not the silence that pisses people off, it is the ridicule and the thought terminating cliches of dismissing such concerns as "racist" and not even worthy of being entertained.

There are people who are giving her money because they support saying "nigger" to a child. The majority, or at least half, gave her money because they don't support cancellation for saying things.
I dislike that this protective stance of free speech is mostly due to the fact that people are not happy with the free speech afforded to Karmelo Anthony. At the same time, it is also unfair to think that it is just the "free speech" of Karmelo's family (and supporters), but rather is the fact that the way the media behaved in relation to it - how they have tried to spin the story to afford all sort of charitable assumptions to the stabbing, while there is nothing of the sort afforded to white people (at least not in the dominant MSM).

• No mention of the threats that were received by the mom from the anti-racist side
• No highlighting to rights that everyone is afforded
  • "Local law enforcement is “looking into the matter,” the city wrote." -- Is there no 1st amendment? Why isn't the WaPo reminding us that people can say things we disagree with and what she did is not illegal?

Karmelo Anthony stabbing

• News of Karmelo Anthony use language such as "Teen charged with murder in fatal stabbingat track meet" (from ABC article)
  • This makes the stabbing more impersonal, it's not "charged with murder in brutal stabbing of innocent teen"
• Threats against the murderer family are emphasized, giving the impression to the public that the hurt-y words are worse than the stabbing.
• No mention of the threats against Metcalf family, or the celebration of his murder.
• Highlighting that Karmelo has the right to a fair trial.

I don't think you can just dismiss this as "white people are dumb for caring about this". I don't think you agree with how the media is portraying it, but you similarly don't realize how much discontent is this type of thing is brewing.
