Yep, the earliest I can find of this shit happening is/was Ultima IX: Ascension. EA has been doing this since at least the 90's.

Tumblr is very upset. Because apparently a woman can't have short hair unless she is a lesbian. That's what they feel is a lesbian haircut so she has to be lesbian. You'd think they'd be against that type of stereotyping since it's harmful.

It all boils down to this "coding" nonsense. Which is really just tumblr-speak for "I know better than the content creator". I actually saw a few posts where people said their pre-orders were cancelled because they fell in love with Liam but he turned out to be straight. I'm willing to bet that most of those posts came from girls who are upset that they couldn't play our their biracial gay couple fantasies in-game and take lots of screenshots to share.

That...that was wretched.

What's weird is the VA for the Irish gal sounds like she's the one who played Cait in Fallout 4, and her performance there was just fine. The writing is shit tier ("I think you're cute!"), but it's starting to look like the direction was fucked too.

Meanwhile, a long-suffering Salarian becomes the voice of a million ME fans.

I'm highly conflicted, if I'm honest.

On the one hand, it has more red flags than a Communist Party conference - microtransactions, day one DLC, boring characters, an idiot plot, bribing your way to victory multiplayer, and Tumblrina pandering.

But on the other hand, it is space opera, and I like space opera. I know I've said I wasn't going to buy it, but I'm tempted to buy a copy just to see if it is as godawful as made out to be.
