I just finished Elissa's clip on this stupid debate. As someone who dislikes both of them (though Hasanabi A LOT more), I'd say...
Total Talmudic Domination
There's a bit of an error to be made in thinking the debate itself was important. Nobody's watching 5 hours of Hasan and Ethan arguing in circles unless they're already obsessive fans whose opinions cannot be swayed. I wouldn't be surprised if Ethan "won" the debate because he was arguing against Hasan Piker, and Ethan's arguments are usually the more reasonable - but that's not the optics of the situation.
He comes across as an unhinged weirdo. Hasan hasn't necessarily come out of this debate looking good (because the debate devolved into petty grievances), but his "crashout" is mostly just him yelling at Ethan because he thinks Ethan is racist, which is then bolstered by clips of Ethan yelling about "the fucking Arabs", and so stripped of context it looks like Hasan was justified. Meanwhile Ethan's got a pyrrhic victory because he's just come across as a lunatic who can't get over Hasan, which even long term H3 fans continued to notice
If Ethan had just drawn a line under this debate and decided he'd "won" so didn't need to discuss it further, I'd see the argument that it had been worthwhile, but he's just continued to crash out on Instagram stories and no doubt will be rehashing it in the months to come.
Worth noting he insisted in the debate that he'd never claimed Snark had called CPS on him. Hasan managed to communicate the message that all Ethan needs to do is stop talking about politics and go back to "goofs and gaffs" while criticising him for needing to be "babied" by his producer, and told Dan "he needs you more than you need him".
What's really gotten under Ethan's skin is Hasan plainly stating what everyone's thinking - he's not well and he needs to get help, which has made him get increasingly mad. He refused to believe he'd mentioned Hasan on his instagram stories 113 times since January 31st 2025. Ethan hasn't won anything if all he's done is once again made himself look like a crazy person who will continue to complain about how life's unfair on his YouTube channel - that subscriber loss is showing no signs of slowing.
That was before, he dumbly assumed what kids had was Giardia since his dog got it. When he got the kids tested it was just a stomach virus.
That's iDubbz's point, though. Ethan was livestreaming to 26k people talking about how his kids got giardia from having a dog shit covered house. While that turned out not to be the case, it's Ethan's fault people had concerns about it since he's the one who broadcast that assumption.
