IIRC on the very first episode of SRMC, Anisa says that he's funny, but that was in the context of justifying the podcast existing in the first place, so I'm not sure if it counts as a proper compliment.

Sorta. In episode 1, she does in fact utter the words "You are inherently funny". I was shocked to hear this. Don't worry though, she does go on to clarify what she meant by that. Immediately after this compliment, she goes on to tell an anecdote to explain this complement. She explains that Ian was making their real estate agent laugh so hard he looked like he was going to pee himself. The only problem is that Ian was not actually trying to be funny. He was simply trying to ask a business question to a realtor, and the realtor laughed in his face. This is what I was getting at, she can never just say something nice. Her compliment very quickly went from "you are funny" to "let me explain, you are a laughing stock which serious people simply can't help but laugh at." I understand this sounds like a nitpick, but I think it's an incredibly important distinction.
