Seriously, there is compilations of his doomer hours where he spends 90% of his time talking about how terrible women are and how bad they've been to him,
Doomer Hour really is a double edged sword. They're basically vlog segments, and vlogging naturally facilitates parasociality with the audience. They're also very funny and sometimes insightful, though.
If Synth wants to be DBDR2 that's completely fine but I'll be unsubbing.
I think Doomer Hour is key to all this, Doomer Hour wasn't just hating on women it was discussing his frustration with them and his shitty experiences in life. The DBDR2 comment is actually quite apt because DBDR videos weren't just about hating Chad and Stacy, his videos were hyper-critical of himself and depressingly self aware regarding his limitations and circumstances. You really got an unfiltered, honest look at who DBDR was, and the same is true with Doomer Hour when Synth talks about his thoughts and his past. The story with his black girlfriend stands out because he always mentions how he was humiliated by a tiny black girl who called him weak, and then his black gf sort of agreed and it devastated Synth, shattering his confidence. Gigachud Normie Obliterator Synthler would never admit that, but Doomer Hour Synth who's being real about who he is and what made him that way would.
Synth said before, during and after watching the clip that it was a bad idea and he clearly established with three separate examples (Kirsche snooping his streams for "repeal the 19th" comments, Angry Joe or Metokur reaching out after beef) that it's a betrayal thing, he said
verbatim if someone did what he did he'd never trust them again, especially "as someone who has had close friends betray me". This is supported by their DMs specifically talking about her concerns regarding dramafags, and Kirsche's only message in chat being about drama; a lot of us (myself included) don't think what he did was that bad, some of you despise vtubers in general, but Synth feels differently and that's just how it is. He's said a dozen times that he's a chud with a heart of gold, that he doesn't want to hurt people who don't deserve it and that behind every cynic is a disappointed idealist. He was never the stone cold ruthless incel the people wanting him to triple down wishes he was, and that's why he considers them psychos. It's not an "attack on the fans/audience" who want to reassure or support him, it's a rejection of what he doesn't want to be and his worse tendencies, which includes doing something he would never forgive to someone who has only been kind to him (regardless of her flaws and their incompatibility). It's not about hurting her, it's a betrayal of himself.
No matter the outcome, Synth will never live down whoa mama.
Synthbros the whoa mama thing was done in jest I'm sure of it... right? Synth please get ahead of this, don't let them weaponize it against you.
There's been a lot of sperging in the past 40 pages but WHOA MAMA is the biggest takeaway, Synth must've known the fans would see it and he didn't know Kirsche would pull the stream so he was fine with it staying public. He needs to own it just like he did with futa after that came out, it can easily become a meme where any remotely attractive female pops up in a stream and chat spams WHOA MAMA until she leaves. He didn't ban people for the futa stuff, he didn't ban for Sphere Hunter or calling his mom hot, if he takes this in stride everyone will laugh and roll with it. It's surprising but Synth is fine at taking jokes, Carl made that video calling him a faggot for liking futa and yet he was the first guest on Chudcast. If Synth genuinely spergs out about WHOA MAMA then that's cow behavior and a lot of this hate will be justified, but I really don't think he will.
Really, the solution to all this is doing a stream where he thoroughly establishes his thoughts, boots up DMC or Ninja Gaiden, gets filtered, plays Breakers for two hours (the time it takes for a single raider game) and everyone moves on.
