As someone who's (unfortunately) followed the industry since the pre-Ai days, the fandom wasn't always like that—but the flags were there. It's a lot like Akibahara before anime was big: filled with tech autists who got exposed to the third nuke (anime) and were done for.
Really, the "loli pipeline" wasn't a thing until around the coof when the tech was widespread and people realized the power of IRL waifus. Companies emerging at the time took note of the loli/shotacons that threw OIC money at anyone that made them and wanted a slice of the cake, leading us to where we are now. If you want to get philosophical, the weirdos who give vtubers money are like the dents that give DSP money: they are both mentally retarded and everyone except them can see it.

Back on topic, I'm glad I'm not the only one that's noticed the prevalence of AI garbage. Even though they look completely different, AI slop has a weird tendency of looking like the same and once you notice it you can't un-notice it.

It's crazy how whenever they have some rando on and the rando is allowed to do some armchair psychoanalysis of Phail, it ends up being more interesting than whatever high school psychology textbook bullshit that lil' Steve's gonna regurgitate. About his fancy pants terms, he does occasionally throw out a condition here or a study there that no one outside of Psych 101 would ever care to know. Well, you have to remember first off that not everyone graduates at the top of the class. There's millions of people who scrape by every year, barely get that diploma, and then never establish any respectable career putting it to use. Besides, even if he graduated with high marks and the material was up-to-date, that doesn't mean he's going to retain it all as year after year passes him by. Dude's getting old. It's hard to say if he was forced to re-enter his post-secondary education that he would be able to pass it again.

Above all else, one man with a standard four year degree in psychological isn't going to be an end-all, be-all authority. Psychologists, including those with the same exact educations, are going to have disagreements with one another. Psychologists are flawed human beings too who get things wrong, who let their biases inform their opinions, and when they get undeservedly privileged as an authority, they're bound to let ego take the wheel (especially if your whole lot in life is to be the God of armchair psychology for the pigroach).

IIRC, he only has some basic four year degree anyways. He's not a doctor, he has no noteworthy professional acumen, and the fact he has enough free time to sit in his Cog shack and talk about Phil's elbow for 40 hours at a time tells me he probably isn't in high demand as a psychologist IRL.
