He most likely is resistant. He's had therapy for many things from controlling his outbursts to handling tasks. Likely starting at the age of 7. Dude's been in hospitals, psyche wards, group homes for the better part of his life. If there was a therapy that could have helped him, they should have found it by now. As for his meds? Andy routinely throws them away or I bet he simply doesn't take them.

Finally got around to watching Joe's video on the passing of his Mom.

I've taken heat in the past for pointing a lot of the blame for Andy's fuckery on the enabling that was done by the rest of the Ditch family. Watching this video only reinforced what I have always believed to be true.

Listen to Joe droning on about how Andy has every right to be at the funeral and how he doesn't want to hear anything to the contrary. The final comment about his Mom allegedly asking him to "take care" of Andy as a deathbed wish was also disturbing.

Over the years I've come across all kinds of fucked up people, especially in the context of kids who grow up to be complete shithouses. We're talking serial criminals, murderers, druggies who are in and out of rehab and just menaces to society in general. However there's a line that's drawn at causing direct harm to close family members.

To that end, the worst I've seen are miserable fucks who con parents/relatives out of money repeatedly or do identity theft, etc.

Now, take all of that and put it up against the litany of horrors that Andy has been at the center of. Beyond the constant physical abuse and mental anguish at the household, we know for an absolute fact that this miserable fuck tried to poison his entire family not once, but twice.

Even then, the Ditch's continued to send him money while he was at some home in a different state and they continued to take his calls when he'd just drone on about whatever the fuck in his fake retard voice.

So he's tried to fucking murder them twice and they've enabled his shit to the point where there are deathbed promises being made by Joe to his Mom so that Andy's insanity can continue under his "care".

The Ditch family bears a ton of responsibility for how things have turned out, no matter how you slice it. There's a hard red line that needs to be drawn when we're talking about attempted murder (honestly, I would have drawn it well before shit even got that far but that's just me).

I'm just waiting for the day that karma finally comes around for Andy in a befittingly gruesome fashion.

Im betting you are because I am and I very much agree with your viewpoint but I know of others who while hating Andy as much as anyone else on this thread understand Joe's POV and seem to often compare to themselves if one of their own siblings acted like Andy.

They all would have a very hard time completely disowning someone that they grew up with and were a close part of their lives good and bad. There is a real "blood is thicker then water" mindset alot of people have especially if they were in a very close knit family.

Personally I think it's even worse in these cases because the abuser has no hesitation in taking advantage of the family bond and it makes me even angrier watching Andy shit on and abuse something I never even had growing up, a brother and a close family.

I've said this elsewhere, but I totally believe that Tom tolerated Andy's shit and did things for him because Janet was the one who dropped the charges for the oil diffuser incident. If Janet had been more firm with Andy, or punished him in any meaningful way (there are ways, even with a faker like andy) then maybe things would have been different.

We need only to see how he behaved before and after his mom dying to know how andy really feels. When she was alive he stopped APS workers from getting in the house and made it all about him. He stopped Tom from seeing Janet when she was in the nursing home on several occasions. the poisonings, turning the lights off on her when she was on a walker, not giving a fuck when she fell, the oil diffuser incident, trying to stab her at the age of 7

She dies, Andy makes a post talking about himself like he was a sweet, harmless little cherub, then makes an AI post because he can't be bothered to put any more effort into it.

Then goes back to fighting with people calling him fake.
