India-Pakistan Conflict - Land Of The Indus Versus Land Of The Pure

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Not taking a side currently but how does Pakistan even justify its existence. At least India exists as its own thing even if its a reprehensible mess. Might as well just merge the two already
Pakistan (and Bangladesh, formerly East Pakistan) was created as Muslim territory due to the Muslim league's pestering, when the desires of Mountbatten (the guy who organised it all) were to create a unified state. Them having Pakistan and what's now Bangladesh was them trying to give them the smallest amount of territory possible. It was essentially how Britain approached giving independence to territories at the time, especially to niggling minorities. Before I get to India proper and for totally unrelated reasons to anything I just said, here's how Israel (Mandatory Palestine) was originally going to be divided, everything to the left of the red line going to Jews, everything on the right going to Muslims:

The situation had more nuances to it. Within India there also several autonomous regions not technically under the control of Britain, so they were given a choice on whether to join India or not. Beside that, the country was primarily divided based on religious grounds and not race. This lead to the weird original territory of Pakistan. However, the original borders were probably worse:

Every territory that says 'annexed' was done so through war or coercion. The post-independence migration also saw the death of millions as Muslims and Hindus moved into their respective countries, which is probably why Mountbatten wanted to keep it whole.

TLDR: Muslims wanted to Muslim in their own country.

india and pakistan also fought in 2019 over VERY similar reasons, but it stayed pretty low-key save a fighter jet being shot down

this time india seems to be more aggressive, however (they appear to both be striking more targets and expanding their targets to residential areas), and pakistan has less to lose (canceled water treaty)
The water treaty is a big deal. Pakistan needs that water because without the country has NOTHING. De-Salinate water? Not happening the best tech for that comes from Israel and Pakistan doesn't recognize that Israel exists. India's control of the water is for Pakistan an existential issue. For those who don't know nearly all the water in Pakistan runs from the mountains down to the sea. Those mountains are in Kashmir.

They pay attention to volume of letters. When they wanted to regulate supplements in the US (instead of having the shit you buy off amazon be a complete wild west free for all like it is right now with zero assurances there's actually any real ingredients in your pills) they received more letters complaining in a few months than they did regarding the entirety of Vietnam war. Today, you can buy colloidial silver off any website and turn yourself blue if you want.
I have heard from a SHITLOAD of real people that written letters really do work.
Written, snail mail. One snailmail is worth appx 100~1k email.

Arabs are bro tier.
But Pakis aren't Arab, no matter how much they want to be...
It's actually a common problem in non-Arab, Sunni countries, since the entire religion is centred around mimicking Muhammed (an Arab) and the natives in non-Arab Muslim states can't truly mimic him as a result of their race; it's also why you occasionally see bearded Muslims dying it red, since Muhammed is described as a red beard.
