Donkey Kong introduced the world to not just Donkey Kong but Super Mario which is a character that is more recognizable to children than Mickey Mouse. In 2023 Mario had the 2nd highest grossing film of the year and 3rd highest grossing animated film of all time.
Pac-Man is also one of the most recognizable video games of all time to the point that a pretty mediocre song about Pac-Man reached #9 on the Billboard charts in 1981 to boomers who saw Pac-Man as the biggest name in video games.
If you want to talk shit about Billy Mitchell that's one thing but let's not pretend games like Donkey Kong and Pac-Man weren't influential and were just "a game for pre-pubescent Asian children". Without Donkey Kong Nintendo might not currently exist. Nintendo is the most profitable company in Japan right now and Japan is the 5th biggest economy in the world. Donkey Kong has had a giant long lasting effect on not just world wide culture but world wide finance as crazy as that sounds. So let's not pretend Donkey Kong and Pac-Man were just "a game for pre-pubescent Asian children" because that's just wrong.
