Lame. When I was a kid we actually had a hardcore computer administrator who was actually well educated and would tell us about really interesting shit like how physical security was often more important than network security because people glossed over it all the time.

I got banned off that shit tons of times. It was great. I'd always find innovative new ways to get through and get in more and more trouble and I found those ways myself.

Using fake emulators and shit is cheating because someone else went and made that shit for them. Zero creativity. They should fail all their classes for being gay and unoriginal.

when i was in high school 15 years ago the IT guy was a single guy in an office that had remote access to every computer in the district and had basically zero input on the operations of the network. it was an active HTML sniffer so you couldn't get around it even with a proxy. they failed to put the blocks on some of the ethernet ports in the science labs so i was able to play video games on my laptop for about a year before im guessing they looked at the logs and saw me playing quake 3

there's no room for creativity in these ecosystems, they're too locked down to give you the ability to do anything that could work around things yourself. chromebooks are literally just chrome on a laptop, man, it's not an operating system.

This is just the agonal breathing stage of the public school system in the US. I could go on for fucking days about why it's so fucked but basically it boils down to
a. The US has zero culture left for young people and they know it. Not consciously, but it's very tangible

I remember the typing game didn't help me much, I still punched each key with my index finger. I didn't get good at typing until I started playing runescape in 4th grade.

The revolutionary thing at my elementary school was the "smart Board™" which was just a big shitty touchscreen but we all got to take turns drawing on it and were amazed. Looking back they lagged so badly and most teachers ended up fucking them up by accidentally writing on them with the dry erase markers. I can't imagine how much these stupid things costed back then.

I have a memory of our middle school having one 'laptop cart' of chromebooks that the whole school had to take turns sharing. We wasted half the class just finding one that could actually boot up because they all had fucked up batteries.

We had kidpix at my school after we completed our typing lessons! We had Mavis Beacon though which was rather boring, and I remember just typing fast as possible to get the fuck out of it so I could fuck around on kidpix or coolmath. What was happening then was rich iphone fags (this was before the iphone was everywhere so people that had one were retards with money) people falling for a really dumb fake campaign that 4chan created saying that they could charge their iphone on the Microwave. Anyone that fell for this was retarded and deserved it. It impacted their own property/iphone and that was it. It was funny because it was a self report on their stupidity, and having it happen to iphone fags (the redditors of the phone industry) made it funnier.

What is happening now is teenagers that own nothing and never had to worry about paying bills in their lives, destroying school property for "haha funy tiktok".

Let me highlight all the problems I have with this:

1. Destroying property is just nigger behavior, this is legitimately one of the aspects that separates first and third world countries. Go to any third world country and you will see trash on the streets, nothing works properly.
   • This just reminds me of Empire of Dust, a documentary where the Asian guy says "Its all so tiresome" because he went to Africa to work on the railroads and finds out that the niggers there just destroy everything and give no fucks and just use the usual "shieeet mang we were colonized up top 50 years ago we don't know how to work no damn railroads shiiieeet bix nood" excuses. 3. Actually puts people in danger since the batteries can explode and catch fire, as other people here already posted some news about schools having to be evacuated.
4. Doing this for "TikTok" fame is incredibly gay and is yet another reason why it should be banned or have strict regulations on their content. I unironically believe TikTok is responsible for at least half of this generation's downfall, especially with the sluttification of girls at early age.
5. This is gonna be the future of society, so things are looking a bit grim. This is not just because of this trend, the generation overall seems incredibly cooked. Null is right when he says there is a competency crisis and it's just going to get worse.

Anyway, anyone that doesn't see a problem with this deserves to live in a shithole country.
It starts with people not returning their shopping carts and slowly devolves into shittier and shittier behavior.

Another update from the Chromebook trenches: the IT director of the school district I help informed me that, yesterday alone, seven students destroyed a total of six Chromebooks using the graphite method. I will be interested to see the damage in person, if I can pick them up today.

Not really too surprised about this when half of the students who attend public school can't even read or write even marginally close to their age level. It's partly to blame on the system, mostly to blame on their parents for not properly regulating and cracking down on their education.
