What is the innocent reason for anyone having a telegram? Seems like it’s just all peodphiles. Discord has a bad reputation but it’s still useful for gaming stuff, but I don’t see the point of telegram unless you wanna get into some weird shit, I’m genuinely curious and not accusing anyone of anything because I’m sure their are reasons I’m ignorant to.

Discord servers are kind of invite only so if you're an average user with a life it's possible to not get fucked up from it, but if you actually dive into it and spend the majority of your time on it you're totally fucked.

Terrorism and perverts like when your IRL friends join up is to apparently watch porn, even though porn is banned on Telegram? You can claim this and that about Telegram and Discord, but they actually have child safety bots that use image hashes to immediately ban anyone posting CSAM and report them to the police. Telegram bans hundreds of channels a day and blocks others being viewed by various countries police and IOS rules. Imagine you're on the moderation team with like 10 people and you have to ban 100 ISIS channels, Terrorgram channels telling you to build concrete barriers to derail trains, and then you need to ban channels that India doesn't like... eventually, the "1543 child grooming channel" with 8 people in it just slips by.
As sad as it might be, this is sort of Telegram's least manageable and least impact type of channels. These guys change platforms and would do this anyway. Telegram is really central now IronMarch has gone to Accelerationists. Although, after all the pressure by that Indian FBI guy, it seems like these "764" channels disappear quickly now.

Discord isn't banning people for CSAM. In fact they've basically moved to a faulty AI system to ban people REPORTING CSAM and child safety violations, because apparently it's easier to avoid lawsuits by banning anyone who tries to talk about it rather than the material and violators themselves. Telegram I can't speak for, but Discord's moderation is actively protecting child groomers, molesters, and child porn distributors while banning victims and reporters. There are two entire subreddits dedicated to this problem right now being posted on constantly because the bots dedicated to this task are basically schizophrenic and will ban people for basically anything. It's actively going out of its way to find completely random, unrelated posts by people who report to use as ban reasons, shit as small as someone saying "Hamburger".

Imo, it does not even go that far. Most of these faggots are larpers, and larpers don't do well in prison. They get bullied for the fun of it. Just like in school. Actually, think more like boarding school. There is some joy in breaking down a person when you have nothing better to do and they let you. It also creates camaraderie.
Even in PC, they'll see them coming from far away from body behavior alone.
You just know most of these guys are cowards who never experienced hardship. That's a very rare occurrence in most prisons, and these people don't do well ever unless they have very special circumstances.
Even if people did not know what they did, they are in for a very bad time.
