He's not just some random "celebrity," he's someone who used to be in some sort of domestic relationship with the guy, and has committed actual crimes against him. Even if nobody prosecutes him criminally, the unauthorized access is also civilly actionable. In combination, there's a pattern of conduct here, not just scurrilous abuse of some random person otherwise unconnected.

First of all that petition actually implicated the HRO statute's classic concern for physical safety given the superchatter's murder fantasy that Aaron and April were talking about, and secondly that petition was settled by Aaron's voluntary stipulation, not contested to the bitter end. Neither would be the case with a petition against Nick.

That's probably why it's not worth actually doing anything until something happens, like the state or feds actually doing something or a statute of limitations coming down on the most serious legal issue (the unauthorized access). After all why spend money doing what the state may do for free?

(This is the sort of thing where both state and federal authorities may just say fuck it, but I wouldn't make any conclusion from just the fact they haven't done anything yet. This is well within the time frame something like this takes.)

What they are focusing in on is the "barely burning career" point. That's their #1 thing with Aaron, and always has been. That his show is boring, and he's not making much money.
