Jake makes me cringe so much. Him and Madam Plumpette seem to have given all their life energy to Zoe and can barely function without her smiling upon them like some dogpatch Mother Mary with really bad hair, beaming beatifically down upon their sad gaming projects as she adjusts her facial piercings, clutches her malfunctioning boob and scans the horizon for her next meal ticket. "This sort of thing" didn't happen to Jake, though. Making a shitty board game doesn't make Jake a "game dev" and Blowey's dramas were about how she got her game promoted rather than the shittiness of her game.

I actually don't think it's that at all. I think it's more that he sees her as some kind of surrogate mother who owes him unconditional, unwavering support because he "did so much for her" during GG.
He's like the creepy stalker who obsesses over a girl he helped change a tyre. He "rescued" a damsel in distress and he thinks he's owed devotion in return because only he truly understands and values her.

He's scary as fuck. He idealises womanhood and puts women on pedestals but the lack of a sexual element only makes it all the more disturbing. It's Ed Gein kind of creepy shit. Anything less than wholehearted, unconditional support is perceived as betrayal. We've seen him express similar sentiments towards his mother.
No object of his obsession could possibly live up to the standards he sets for them and he intensely resents them for that.

It's hard to recognise at first because it's initially indistinguishable from a harmless, unrequited crush. It's often not until the resentment becomes overt that other people begin to appreciate the creepiness of it. I wonder where it will lead now, though. Is he going to call her out for "using" people and then discarding them? There's huge potential for this to escalate now that he feels justified in confronting her publicly, especially if she doesn't apologise to him.
Murder/suicide in downtown Niantic. Mother is, after all, both the most idealised woman and the primary "betrayer".

It's interesting to see the progression of Jake commenting on Blowy's tweets over the past year only to be ignored, then suicide baiting and begging for her to talk to him, then going back to trying to get her to notice him, and now accusing her of "refusing" to "offer [him] any support." I wonder if he tried to get her to help him when this thread was made, which was months after she decided to cut him off.
