I worked with a lot of South Africans and havent heard anything positive about the country from them. They have an extreme form of affirmative action which locks whites out of a lot of good jobs, land reclamation, raids, and so on. TPTB in SA don't like white people and don't want white people. I just worry that the SA refugees are going to be another political football and get sent back when a dem takes office to make room for Haitians.
The two aren't conflated in Amsterdam at least. Last time I was there, not a single Dutch hooker to be found - it was all Africans and Eastern Europeans.
