1. Then when it became apparent to him that her whereabouts becoming known would catch him in lesser lies like that, he attempted to cover that up as best he could by begging Null to censor the thread and by digging in deeper with new lies about the boyfriend, traffic light, etc. to throw off understandable suspicion about an affair that didn't even happen in the first place.

4. Nick is telling the truth that April has been fully estranged since January, but he has made unrequited attempts at contact including perhaps going to April's new place or nearby without her consent or even without her knowledge, after which recent revelations and speculation got him to make panicked moves and come up with new lies to throw off any suspicion that he may have been stalking or harassing April.
