This concept is so fucking alien to me. If I were to stream, I'd make it as comfortable as possible. No fake voices, no weird hats, no straining quirk. Yet, every single vtuber defaults to this nasal voice. Or being a loud gremlin. Even the self-proclaimed 'mommies' attempt to lower their voice and it sounds so dumb.
At least some of the point of being a vtuber is protecting your identity, which means less if people will just recognize you by your voice irl. It's also easier to disassociate if your voice is different. You're just playing a character, you're an actress.
Vtubing should be only about protecting yourself from stalkers. As a type of activity I don’t think they should do anything different than flesh streamers.
