Ukrainian Defensive War against the Russian Invasion - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

I partial to thinking Trump had to do the "peace" route first just the shut up most of the "peace at all costs" constituents who actively sided with Russia just to spite the democrats.

Kind of, but like half of their wars involve fighting themselves, so I'm not sure if they got quite the same conquest boner
China is the size it is because they been on continous conquest against all of their neighbors whenever they're not in a civil war.

True and it's interesting how anti-war people often times are the same ones praising China for one reason or another. During the great Red-note incident where tons of Tik-tok users fled to red-note, people were gushing over how China is a seemingly hyper advanced and how "years of U.S propaganda" was "destroyed overnight". Communist China has been to war or launching occupation forces into neighboring nations for the better part of it's history. From Tibet to Vietnam and now issues potentially with Taiwan. Ukraine is so interesting to me in multiple respects but especially socially because the mess and strings of politics makes the strangest pygmy opinions I've seen. Supporting Ukraine but also supporting China. Or Supporting Ukraine, Palestine and China. Or supporting Russia, China and Palestine, etc. People were upset over Tibet when it happened but compared to Ukraine the global response was a shrug. China got away with a LOT over the last 80 years under the guise of being a developing nation. And while yes, sanctions and tariffs have been put on China in the past over their human rights abuses, compared to Russia they almost always walk away with some kind of a pass. Murdering protestors? Yeah I'll invest in your economy. Organ harvesting? Foxcon is getting my business for sure! And so it goes. I guess maybe it all chalks up to the fact that Russia isn't the world's factory.

Not just the world's factory, nearby every western business sees China's one billion plus people as potential customers to milk for decades. Isn't until the last few years some of the started to realize those potential customers either got no money. Or if they do, are buying domestic brands not foreign brands like theirs.
Chinese government doesn't want their residents to buy foreign brands. People are buying korean/japanese gacha games? Well they'll make their own, having Genshin Impact become international success will be a plus. Lots of kids are watching Disney movies? Well they're gonna put a stop to Mulan and Kung Fu Panda dominating cinemas by creating Ne Zha, with it's sequel becoming the highest grossing animated film in WORLD HISTORY through the domestic market alone.

It took 2 decades for Chinese entertainment industry to become developed enough to rival western productions and I think they are still taking notes. I wouldn't be surprised if the major reason China had the live-action Mulan movie filmed inside of their country was because they'd be allowed to cooperate with hollywood actors, directors, cgi artists, etc., whose methods and techniques they'd proceed to emulate and implement in their own productions. And since Hollywood is stuck in perpetual state of making slop, inoffensive content that wouldn't trigger anyone from San Francisco to Beijing (all the gay shit gets cut out for international releases), It may only be a matter of time that the Chinese audience will stop caring about western releases, as theirs would allow to be a lot more edgy and... ironically enough... have more freedom. If you're only creating something for the Chinese audience in mind, there is absolutely no need to have diversity directors lecturing you how depicting Genghis Khan as some sort of lizard demon is insensitive to Mongolians, you can just go ahead and do that. Granted, you absolutely still cannot do something that would offend the government, but that still leaves you with much less restrictions than trying to appeal to the international market across the whole world, where tiniest gesture or statement could get taken with offense. Like this map from the Barbie movie got banned in Vietnam, because no joke... people in government interpreted the dash line near asia as representation of Chinese claims within south China sea.

You can't even make child doodles without risking your movie getting banned somewhere.

You know that, I know that, but it wasn't what the Chinese government told the foreign businesses with ¥ symbols sparkling in their eyes for decades. All for the low, low price of setting up a shop in mainland China and handing over their IP.

'First combat use of a drone with a grenade launcher by the Ukrainian Armed Forces
🐝
💥
The pilots of the BULAVA unit mounted a grenade launcher on the Queen Hornet drone and successfully used it against enemy infantry. The video shows the elimination of a russian occupier. That moment when the occupier received an exclusive death.

L'Express publishes portions of a 16 page intelligence report on the Russian efforts against France ranging from the usual sabotage and hacking to sanctions busting with political influence too.

Statue of Stalin erected in temporarily occupied Melitopol, one of few in this deathcult of a country. I reckon Russia will repair or rebuild the Lenin statues Ukraine destroyed in Kursk. Soviet Communism seen through the prism of the Putinist death cult is the only historical memory with any broad based meaning in Russia. Tsarism is for some weirdos.

Russia truly is the state of serfdom and nation worship, their "orthodox" church is known for venerating soldiers and communists as a part of their worship of the state, it's not even a christian religion, it may aswell be a syncretic russo-communist-duginist cult.
The population of Russia is complicit in a way that can only be described as genetic and historic rape, Russians exist to be subjugated by others and their bread and circus is memory of a time where they were still poor and oppressed but the country they lived in was larger.

sounds like a lottery prize -- I guess it is of sorts

It reminds me of reading about Polish Catholic "war hymns" against the Germans c. WWII -- who the fuck has "war hymns" past the Crusades? Onward, Christian Soldiers is the only one I ever learned, but it wasn't being applied in any literal sense contemporaneously.

It is indeed due to difference in theological doctrine. While kings of Catholic Europe had historically been obligated to be subordinate to the church, it was the opposite in Orthodox Europe. That region followed Symphonia theology, the belief that church and state must not dominate over each other, but be complementary. Byzantine and Russian emperors were likened to Judean priest-kings, that were tasked with executing both the cannon and judicial law, possessed ultimate authority over the church and were answerable only to god. Doesn't matter if you don't like communist leaders gaining tons of praise, that bombed hundreds of churches and were very explicitly atheist, the president took on the mantle of enforcing the cannon law, eradicating "degeneracy", making him a figure of divine authority, in a similar manner of a Pharaoh.

Orthodoxy within Russia being a cult of the state is not a bug, it's a feature. When you mix nationalism with that... it leads to utter insanity, as seen within the Yugoslav civil wars, with multiple states wanting to genocide one another because their leaders more or less were allowed to act as judge, jury and executioner. Under divine mandate of the "emperor" with such ultimate authority everything is permissible, there is no right or wrong, there's only pure tribalism. And it's probably what makes so many conservative reactionaries view Russia with such high regard, because it's philosophy aligns so well with their own Phyletism. I mean, you've probably heard hundreds of times on this site alone of people longing for a cleansing on more social and ethnic groups than there are fingers on all four of your limbs, for the sake of "purification".

Boris Johnson laying down the charm for Trump. [A] "Yes, Mr. President, you have much stronger balls and are vastly smarter than that coward Biden, let us have a go at this properly, yes?"

Ukraine is breaking up their tank brigades and distributing the tanks across the force. [A]This aligns with their new use as direct fire support rather than break through vehicles. Return of the assault gun when? *Sad M10 Booker noises*

Crimean Tatars maintain their traditions while away from home. [A] Take as you will, they are Muhammadeens.

One of the most galling things in the coverage of Crimea is that the transfer of Crimea to Ukraine under Khrushchev somehow qualifies for a take back and they are all Russian anyway. Ignoring that it's only Russian populated due to genocide and that Russia signed both the Budapest Memorandum and re-signed the Treaty of Helsinki, revoking any claims to Crimea in the nineties.

Realities on the ground matter, but the arguments boil down to Stalin repopulated it and Putin has a hard on for Alexander III.
