I think Tom was probably a bit closer to Destiny, hence his blatant avoidance to the topic aside from the one interview he did with that coworker of Destiny's. Deorio turns on people frequently so I'd wager most just kinda accepted it and all the streams he made shiting on Destiny helped sever the connection. Tom backing down is likely a combination of the cringe, dog girl, and Destiny, least to me.
