Someone up-thread mentioned that one of the side-effects of drugs and resulting brain holes is an inability to process the passage of time. He perceives it as recent because his brain can't fill in all the time that passed between those events and the present.

That could also explain why he thinks that Aaron is constantlyvtalking about him despite his Rekieta media blitz being nearly a year ago. It feels like that happened yesterday.
