Sure ads are a pain, but just take it as a sign to get up from the computer and move around for a few minutes like you're supposed to anyway.
Doing the scheduled ads every hour is less disruptive to the stream than having the twitch ad infestation run wild.

I imagine Vice/Waypoint isn't under too much risk in the situation for losing face. The thing is that even among the rest of games media, Waypoint is seen as a joke of a website along with it's editor, the author of the article "deventing" Valens, Dwayne Jenkins.
I was googling the guy the other day and found this article from late last year from Luke Plunkett (who's name I find familiar enough to know he's been around games media a while and thus probably a leftist shitter even if I can't recall specifics about him)

Which is to say that even among it's "peers" in the space and political leanings, the website is looked at like a weird fucked up joke of a website without any real point to make, even said it's worse than ad-farm websites because those at least are better at making money.
So them losing face on this Kirshe stuff is just another day at the office for them I'd wager, can't lose reputation if you already have a garbage one.
