Never really got this thread to be honest. I think the dude needs to keep to himself and I think his confederacy video was entirely unneeded and retarded even if I agree with the conclusion (Slavery is bad, what a revelation.) But I don't think anything that he's done is thread worthy, his worst crime is being annoying and unfunny but honestly I'd probably have a couple drinks with him, I don't think he's a bad dude and I think a fair amount of the hate for him is really overblown or just assuming the absolute worst possible thing about anything he posts to twitter.

Thread tax: I don't really like how his character looks when it's front facing the camera, I think the little sona blob he's got is fine, good actually, it's recognizable and fairly simple to draw (albeit oddly composed with the head shape) but whenever he faces forward it just looks off to me, it's like if a muppet was designed to only face directly to the left or right of the camera, it reminds me of the old mascot costumes that the Nickelodeon resort had, costumes that looked fine at certain angles, but when forced to face the camera it just looks really off. His other original characters have this issue aswell but not really to the same extent, they more look like muppets if something was ever so slightly off.

Never really got this thread to be honest. Oh yeah I think he's aware of the thread too, I think most people who have threads here are aware of them to some extent, but understand it's far better to just ignore it rather than actively talk about it, I can respect them for that. I also agree that I think the best outcome for these threads is for the person to just settle down and start cleaning themselves up, I enjoy a good laugh every once in a while but I enjoy a story of someone getting their act together a hell of a lot more.

Maybe I'm just too optimistic or hopeful but I genuinely think that Doob can iron out his creases and flaws with the right circle and a bit introspection, he's FAR from the worst person talked about here as his worst crime really is just being "cringe", I feel like all he needs is a push in the right direction, but even then, his current state is far from the worst it could be, he just needs to iron a few things out and he'd probably be good as gold. I also think he could do with a bit of art practice, I think his current style has a lot of potential but if he stays drawing just cartoony silly stuff for the rest of his career, he'll just become a one trick pony.

Honestly I think the best thing that anyone, not just content creators online can do, is to just delete their twitter account, hell delete most of their social media except for what directly makes them money, and just focus on themselves. Gave this game a try as it looked like it could be in my sphere of interest. It's competent and has some good ideas, though I can very confidently call it a Doobus game. The gameplay is well-paced with how it introduces new concepts and mechanics but is held back by the writing, which errs on the side of being a little too wordy for a Binding of Isaac/2D Zelda-esque game. I'd describe the writing and humour of the game as "soft Reddit". It isn't obnoxious or massively detrimental to the experience of playing the game, though it does chafe in many areas. The style is very grounded in reality and appears to have a bit of a dark streak (there's a suicide joke), which I think is detrimental to the whimsy of freeloading around a large world and interacting with a varied cast of characters.

There's four female characters in the game, all of whom are drawn to look proportional/conventionally attractive - a contrast to the more abstract, cartoony designs of the male characters. I admittedly think it's endearing when video games use that trope, though it probably caused Doob to have a coomsplosion. The lead female character is also clingy and madly in love with the main protagonist for no reason, which probably led Doobus into coomruption territory.

I'm not really sure what there is for Doobus to parody. The game is very self-aware and doesn't leave any room for you to fill in the blanks or think deeper about the world or it's characters. Whatever Doobus has in store will probably come across more as a tribute than a parody.

An animator with 1.6m subs and 200k followers should have knocked the 50k goal by now because if Pelo was pushing this game, the devs would have hit the goals by now (And Pelo would have made a better video). Honestly, I think it's other people with bigger wallets that are funding this game because most of his lefty fans don't support shit If the demo is good, I might throw some cash their way. The video was just another shitty Doobson video that doesn't the game any favors (the devs deserve better).
