Unfortunately I believe I can furnish you with some information.
About a decade ago on 8ch and its sister sites, the userbase as a whole was pretty tight knit and rather than stay in their own containment boards like 4ch it was common for everybody to crosspost and mingle on different boards. As I'm sure you are aware, 8ch did have several variations of exclusively pedophilic boards, and hotwheels was fine with allowing them their little zones of radiation so long as they kept to themselves. But you know how good pedos are at respecting boundaries.
Well rather than stick to /b/ and /hebe/ and shit, cunnyposters would come shit up other boards and bring along their fetish material and staunchly defend their right to goon in whatever language was local. Among weebs, they would phrase their pedophilia as an extension of 2D>3D, claiming it was solely a transcendent fantasy. Among robots, loli was sticking it to women and a way to humiliate and degrade the foids. And on /pol/ it became a daily clusterfuck of antifeminist retvrn to nature excuses related to incest/age of consent laws and the effects of exogenous hormone disruption in modern life. They'd spam their shit and get b& and come back and do it again like the autists they are, and being 8/pol/ people were more concerned with encouraging fruitful and controversial discussion than preventing brainrot from taking root. So they were tolerated, humored, and a constant source of argument and derision. They even resulted in memes that are still used to this day, like the merrypost copypasta:
Anywho without aggressively being put in their place by moderation, they got their foot in the door in terms of creating a political subsect and "ideology" which, by not being immediately destroyed, was allowed to exist in the sphere of serious political and philosophical discussion. Slowly over the years they recruited more of their filth and when 8ch was kill, they of course flipped back to 4ch. As ecelebs popped up and retards clinging to them became more prevalent, it was really unsurprising that some of these skidmarks would jump onto another ship like twitter in search of recruits and other likeminded paraphiles. They seem to have done quite well for themselves in terms of growing their numbers and ability to normalize their behavior to a point people think they're joking. But they're not.
Merryposting is used as a joke today but in the original threads on the subject, it was said dead seriously. An entire ring of shameless pedos circlejerked about how right and natural it was to want to fuck your own preteen daughter instead of your wife, and some of them even confessed to planning to "train" their infant daughters with their fingers once they were born. Just awful, sickening, horrifying shit that I can never fucking bleach out of my brain, and now they're everywhere and people think they're being ironic. They are not joking.
