The justices in the latest unsigned decision faulted the administration for giving the detainees only 24 hours to launch legal challenges.

"Under these circumstances, notice roughly 24 hours before removal, devoid of information about how to exercise due process rights to contest that removal, surely does not pass muster," the ruling said.

But the court concluded that the justices themselves, "far removed from the circumstances on the ground," are not best placed to determine exactly what process should be followed.

Therefore, the court sent the case back to an appeals court for further proceedings to determine what due process the detainees should receive

Doesn't matter how high the floor is, if the roof isn't 51%. Democrats don't have a guaranteed lock on the white house, other wise we'd all be watching in horror at the harris presidency. Democrats don't have a guaranteed lock on the white house that their political strategies from the start require "fortification." Which Trump is currently doing his best to dismantle. If he'll do enough damage in four years to make a difference is another matter entirely. I say he will.

Now mind you harris is/was a far better candidate than Newsom will ever be. She was nationally unknown prior to 2020 (and was little known after), was coming off four years of being in the white house (from the democrat inclined pov that's a plus), had the entire "fortification" machine behind her, and is a minority woman. Newsom has years and years worth of bad national headlines, won't have the same amount of "fortification" behind him, and is trying to run in a party that actively hates white straight men like him. He has no hope.

Its nice knowing that after 4 years of Biden, no one here seems to understand why someone might be a bit antigoverment.
