Despite as much as I like Switch, me too. They always had way more games available because they needed to support two consoles. The portables were always cheaper too, so all Switch really accomplished for fans was higher prices and less Nintendo games overall.

Anyone else planning on scalping some soytendo switch 2s? Hoping I can get 700 or 800 a pop for em, tendies are coping and seething over shit now but they'll be buying and I guarantee there won't be enough day 1 product

I will if I can get one. Gonna ask for $900 or best offer, but I'll break even if I have to, which may be likely if it's not so popular, which I'm kinda expecting at this point.

It could be Nintendo cheapening out, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's some massive system wide issues that they don't want to be brought up before the launch.

i legit got a switch 1 about 2 weeks after launch (tho i feel i had an unfair advantage as my cousin was the manager of the local store and he informed me via text when they got units) . if you just keep even any track of stock alerts in your local area, you'll easily find one. then again i decided to get a preorder just to "secure" a system. it was a fun thing waiting out for 3 hours in front of the game store, got to run into some old school friends and we just chatted about games we've been playing. and since the midnight launch for me is June 4th, during my college summer vacation, i might go to just experience a midnight console launch

exactly, if you're retarded enough to buy a scalped unit of anything, you deserved to be scammed lol, i swear some people are too impatient on getting a system, like its ok to wait a few weeks after launch. by then there will be more games out.

When Switch OLED came out and people were going crazy trying to get one, I just picked a day after work to stop at all the electronics stores on the way home. Took about 40 minutes and the fourth or fifth store had a few. Just have to try.

i remember just walking into a gamestop a day after the OLED came out and just buying it, there was like no scalping as far as i know on that, because the OLED switch was such a niche concept to begin with

Imagine if 3DS games costed more than the average PS4 game in 2013. The Switch and Switch 2 slide into what is traditionally the handheld niche, (the power from a couple generations ago, but portable,) but at home console prices.

Pretty much. I figure if they've got the money to waste then I'll happily take it off their hands. They're either rich or foolish, either way they're throwing that money around so why not in my direction instead of someone else's.

The one thing I'd caution people about is if you want to keep your shipping base firmware, you won't be able to use a MicroSD Express. From what is says on the Nintendo site, you will need to do a 0-day firmware update to use a MicroSD Express card with your machine. It's really hard to say what is the right route to go. You might need the MicroSD Express card in the future for a jailbreak, but you might not. It's unlikely that the shipping base firmware will be needed for a jailbreak, but anything is possible.

I guess they weren't able to finish the MicroSD Express support in time for the base firmware, likely as a result of a lack of cards to test (given that MicroSD Express cards, despite being a standard since 2019, apparently actually haven't existed in hardware form until 2025).

I feel that 0-day firmware updates are bullshit, but it is what it is.

Well, I'm inclined to believe what Rossman has to say. I haven't ever seen him lie beforehand and he is always clear about the limitations of his knowledge on a given subject when he isn't 100% sure.

I still cannot get over the fact that Nintendo is charging eighty dollars for fucking Mario Kart of all things. If they had made a Zelda game with graphics on par with horizon dawn I would understand. But no, they think the stupid kart racer is worth 80 dollars. Nintendo's brazen greed this generation has completely killed my enthusiasm for their games.
