I feel this. I grew up with a girl who was definitely, observably autistic. I'm talking she would have these emotional outbursts that, if kids didn't know her very well, would have them talking shit for weeks about how she "freaked out" or did something weird. She would memorize entire episodes line by line of SpongeBob and eventually sailor moon as we got older (and recite them without prompting). She was in all of our same classes though and was able to do everything we could and grow up as we did, just different. I get so sick and tired of uwu "autistic" girls who think they are because they like pokemon and stimming sometimes. Shut the fuck uuuuup

To add on: I can't even remember the number of times through elementary-hs I had to tell kids "that's just her, she's autistic" and most of the time would go in 1 ear out the other. They didn't get it, and it seems, many still don't. It pisses me off autism awareness has become so watered down that autism basically means nothing now.
