Emergency personnel are responding to an explosion near the American Reproductive Centers building in Palm Springs, California.
The incident has rattled homes and startled residents, part of the USA TODAY Network, reported. Some residents are reporting smoke and an odor, according to the outlet.
Palm Springs Police Department told the Desert Sun said the explosion at about 11 a.m. local time in downtown Palm Springs, which was felt as far as 2 miles away, appears to be a car explosion by the American Reproductive Centers clinic. Lt. William Hutchinson said that there appears to be at least one fatality.
"Everything is in question, whether this is an act of terrorism," he said on the scene.
Palm Springs Police and Fire crews are currently on the scene. The city of Palm Springs advised residents to stay away from the area so that emergency crews can work the incident.
According to it's website, American Reproductive Centers started in 2006 and is "Coachella Valley’s first and only full-service fertility center & IVF lab."

I have a hard time believing he’d be invited to hang out at someone’s PS house over the weekend, but stranger things have happened.

He’d definitely try to mooch a weekend stay there if he knew anyone with an empty sofa or bed but the gays usually give such accommodations to far more attractive or charismatic men.

I was assuming airbnb they can't have any friends left

Looks like we got a name - Guy Edward Bartkus.

https://bnonews.com/index.php/2025/...-fertility-clinic-described-as-pro-mortalist/ (archive)

Bomber of California fertility clinic identified, described himself as pro-mortalist

The bomber at a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California, has been identified as a 25-year-old man who left an online manifesto in which he described himself as a pro-mortalist, saying people didn’t give consent to exist.

The suspect is Guy Edward Bartkus, a 25-year-old man from Twentynine Palms, a small city about 35 miles northeast of Palm Springs. He left a 30-minute audio recording in which he explained his reasoning behind the attack.

“I figured I would just make a recording explaining why I’ve decided to bomb an IVF building, or clinic,” he said at the beginning of the recording. “Basically, it just comes down to I’m angry that I exist and that, you know, nobody got my consent to bring me here.”

Describing himself as anti-life, he adds: “I’m very against [IVF], it’s extremely wrong. These are people who are having kids after they’ve sat there and thought about it. How much more stupid can it get?”

Bartkus also set up a tripod with a camera in an effort to film his attack, but the file failed to upload to his website.

In a FAQ section of his website, he further explains that his best friend Sophie recently died after convincing her boyfriend to shoot her while she slept. “IIRC we had agreed that if one of us died, the other would probably soon follow,” Bartkus wrote.

His description seemed to match the death of 27-year-old Sophie Tinney in Fox Island, Washington on April 22. Police arrested her boyfriend, 29-year-old Lars Eugene Nelson, and believe Tinney convinced Nelson to shoot her in the head as she slept. Nelson was charged with second-degree murder.

Bartkus is believed to be the only person who was killed in Saturday’s bombing at American Reproductive Centers, though officials have yet to formally identify his remains. Four other people were injured and taken to hospital.

“Make no mistake, this is an intentional act of terrorism,” an FBI spokesman said at a briefing. The clinic was closed at the time of the attack and all of the stored embryos are believed to be safe.

Maybe if you’re a complete retard it’s a problem. They don’t call them “Abortions R Us” stores because they usually provide a wide range of OBGYN services.

The biggest confusion came from anti-abortion groups who for twenty years opened up “women’s healthcare centers” (they tried to mimic the names) right next to, or as close as possible, to the facilities that provided abortions in hopes that women seeking abortions would get confused and makes an appointment with them instead. They were never worried about mistakenly getting bombed or protested.

You guys act like people who methodically plan car bombs are as misinformed and lazy as the average pol-tard. These guys tracked down the churches and private residences of OBGYN doctors that worked part-time at abortion clinics to murder them. They aren’t confused about their targets and know exactly what buildings, or people, are their targets.

But I’d laugh my ass off if some retard blew up an IVF clinic and melted 10000 embryos and 5000 test tubes of baby batter trying to stop abortions.
There actually was a "Women's Health Center" run by pro-lifers that was bombed. IIRC, it was in Des Moines.

A woman on another board said she had worked at one of those places; she was a non-Mormon Christian who lived in Utah, and was horrified to see that most of the females (you'll soon see why I used this word) who came in for pregnancy tests were from the junior high down the street, and they were HOPING they were pregnant! She had to make more than one CPS report, that's for sure. This place also had a clothing closet and food pantry open to the community. Someone donated an ultrasound machine, but they didn't have anyone qualified to operate it, so it sat in a closet until someone affiliated with them was going to an overseas hospital, and some updating and maintenance, and it was no longer taking up space in that closet. She mainly stopped working there because of changes in her personal life (had another baby, IIRC) and new management there that wasn't to her liking.

Another woman who was an ex-fundie volunteered at one, something like one Saturday morning a month, when she was in high school. She mainly answered the phone, in between surfing the then-primitive Web and doing homework. Not once did anyone come in for a pregnancy test while she was there, but there were people who stopped by because they heard that place had information about how to get food stamps, that kind of thing.

The "center" in my town does have one service that I think is totally pro-life in action. This service does require a referral from a teacher, clergyperson, social worker, etc. but it's this: They provide car seats free of charge to people in need. The clients have to watch about a 10-minute video about proper installation and use, and they select the right seat for these children (pregnant women demonstrate with a doll) and set them up and send them on their way, with no preaching done. I will add that they also mark the seat in such a way that they can't turn around and re-sell it or pawn it, which one would expect if you think about it.

I have no use for the kinds of places that lock women in a room and show them pictures of aborted babies.

Can someone please edit the Community Happens post so it says "Efilism", and not "Elfism"?

Because I came into this thread thinking some batshit insane, antinatalist elf-larper was behind this, and was very disappointed.

"I have lived for over a thousand years, therefore I have the wisdom to understand the perils that overbreeding has wrought. We must reduce the population to fewer than a hundred thousand and live in harmony with nature!"

Fucking California, Jesus. It really is one massive open air lunatic asylum.

This is such a pointless, pitiful worldview. What a fucking loser. Edgy teenage bullshit.

>I am mad that I exist.

So not only was it suicide, it was attention seeking mixed with suicide; now the question comes in with "Was this instructed by a community or a person other than himself? Or did he do this specifically himself?" I will actually chuckle if it was found out he used ChatGPT to figure out how to make a car bomb and ChatGPT, like the Las Vegas bomber, purposefully set him up to fail, just like the Las Vegas bomber where no one outside of the bomber was killed, because that's very funny. Imagine if ChatGPT, rather than saying "Hey, maybe don't do this" is like "Okay, here's how you do this, you totally won't be killing only yourself in that, you're so cool and edgy, anyway, make sure to do it this way, and don't deviate from it. You are SO valid, make sure to tie the bag around your neck first, before doing anything else."

Seriously, they say its ACTIVELY what they want anyway.

But I've NEVER had an urge to fedpost this fucking bad. Its UNIRONICALLY sounding like JUST a death cult wanting death for deaths sake. Even fucking ISIS had REASONS to kill specific people, even if that was a LOT of specific people.

Is it even something you can blame me for? Niggas who unironically think ALL life should die, and I'm supposed to NOT want them dead?....

I might need to take the night off KF and play games or shit, because this shit unironically got me mati AF.

Remove my post if necessary mods, I'm out

no way

how did he get all the stuff to make the bomb? where did he make it?

he made a big ass bomb but fucked up the livestream?

why wouldn't he have taken out doctors etc?

this makes no sense
Theres speculation that it was a shaped charge but still im inclined to believe that he was "helped" by some government agency aka some nice ole fbi informant.

the two reddit threads both talk about tons of people taking video in the immediate aftermath, it should be showing up on tiktok

Hands you the flask
First time in staring evil in the face and wondering "Wow, I exist with these people and we're technically the same species?"

The only positive is he only killed his wretched self and did property damage. He didn’t bomb the clinic when it was full of people, or some other place, where innocent people could have been killed or maimed.
