Up to recently there was a huge amount of friction from many sources that caused trooning out to be difficult to impossible at best.

These days with speed running transitions, including medical intervention, has caused a huge number of mentally ill people to swamp the “team” highlighting that including them into the alphabet was a mistake.

If I had to guess, maybe because up until recently most trans-identified people were gays or lesbians. I was browsing goodreads (which is filled to the brim with woke nonsense, the userbase is clearly majority female, SJW, leftist etc), looking up the newest John Boyne novella.
John Boyne is a gay Irish author (most famous for "the boy in the striped pajamas") who I believe used to be way more pro troon, even wrote a troon book himself ("my brother's name is Jessica", haven't read it, but I doubt the troons like it). Not sure what happened, but he now is clearly sick of them, he can often be found replying to JK Rowling on Twitter and voicing his support.

The top review for the recent book atm is by some power user with a high amount of followers and reviews and she gave it a high rating.
Someone who I assume is a pooner felt the need to reply to her review and tell her off for reading a "problematic author". The link just goes to a fake review by herself, linking to a recent tweet by Boyne about supporting Rowling.

Yeah, probably. Anything other than full-throated support of troons gets you labelled a transphobe. Even failing to condemn a transphobe strongly enough will get you labelled as one.

I remember some poor voice actress who was asked by a troon during an AMA “Does [character] say… trans rights?” She politely declined (likely because it’s not a good idea for an expendable employee to give a character your bosses own a political position), and got dogpiled for it.
