in an update to this, CivitAI's efforts were unsuccessful and they've had their "card processor stop service" starting Friday, May 23.

They are already be in full compliance with the TAKE IT DOWN Act. This is just payment processors being terrible, as usual. Civitai doesn't allow any NSFW images to be generated with LoRAs depicting real people, so all they have to do is remove alleged "deepfakes" of real people upon request if they do get uploaded (eg. with stripped metadata or something). They already do that to avoid getting sued.

I'm more thinking they're gonna have a hard time finding a new processor because of the threat of this law, not so much that it'll be directly used against them.

All payment processors are gonna hear is the bill goes after AI porn of celebrities and civit is basically an A.I porn site with a section dedicated to celebrities. even though celeb models are strictly SFW by rules of the site I doubt anyone is gonna want to deal with that headache and risk unless they either ban porn or real person models.

Hey, I know of this one guy who has been deplatformed in every imaginable way under the sun and despite this, he still keeps on trucking. Maybe they should take a few pages out of his book to stay afloat?

It's certainly not possible to run a checkpoint called "MAKE ME PORN NSFW SDXL" and add a LORA for "Taylor Swift" and get anything that looks like Taylor Swift in a compromising position. And this certainly can't be run in the privacy of your own home, nope, not at all.

It would have to be sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid, with the shop owner saying "we don't sell saltwater" - and you'd have to mix it outside the store, or at your own home, so the heat from the reaction doesn't cause a mess to be made.
