My personal belief at this point is that it's just arrogance and wounded ego. James seems like he's failed and been drummed out of everything he's ever done, and he was finally seeing some success with the politics thing. But James thinks he's smarter and better than everyone else and naturally should be in charge. So he overplayed his hand by trying to appoint himself as some gatekeeper of the New Right and fucked up and got drummed out again. James seems to think that Auron is literally a fake man (he apparently does use a stage name, in fairness) who was propped up specifically to counter James.

James essentially declares Auron his arch enemy. It's pretty difficult to over state how wild this is if your familiar with Auron at all. He's not some neo-Nazi radical and isn't even really a "Christian nationalist", he works for Glenn Beck, for crying out loud. He is sincerely Christian, so I guess it shows what the "woke right" thing is really about.
