Two Israeli Embassy staff members were shot and killed during an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night, authorities confirmed.

Tal Naim Cohen, a spokesperson for the Israeli embassy in the capital, confirmed to Fox News that two diplomats were shot "at close range" during a Jewish event at the museum. The American Jewish Committee confirmed it was hosting the event in a post on X.

"We have full faith in law enforcement authorities on both the local and federal levels to apprehend the shooter and protect Israel’s representatives and Jewish communities throughout the United States," Cohen said.

Fox News confirmed a man and a woman were both killed in the shooting. Further details on their identities were not immediately available.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said DHS is "actively investigating" the incident and "working to get more information to share."

"Please pray for the families of the victims. We will bring this depraved perpetrator to justice," Noem wrote on X.

The Metropolitan Police Department said a shooting investigation was underway near 3rd Street and F Street Northwest, which is where the Capital Jewish Museum is located.

Danny Danon, Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations, said an event was taking place at the museum and the deadly shooting was a "depraved act of anti-Semitic(sic) terrorism" in a statement posted to X late Wednesday night.

"Harming diplomats and the Jewish community is crossing a red line. We are confident that the US authorities will take strong action against those responsible for this criminal act. Israel will continue to act resolutely to protect its citizens and representatives – everywhere in the world," he wrote.

Fox News Digital has reached out to DC police, the Israeli embassy and the Capital Jewish Museum.

A man and woman were shot and killed in front of the Capital Jewish Museum in Northwest D.C. Wednesday evening.

The victims were Israeli Embassy staffers, sources familiar with the investigation said.

The suspect shouted "Free Palestine" while being arrested, three law enforcement officials said. His identity hasn't been released.

The shooting took place about 9:15 p.m. in the area of 3rd and F streets in Northwest — in front of the Capital Jewish Museum and behind the FBI field office and the U.S. attorney's office.

Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon posted on the social media platform X that Israeli embassy employees were injured in the fatal shooting. He called it “a depraved act of anti-Semitic terrorism.”

News4 has not confirmed any additional victims other than the deceased man and woman.

American Jewish Committee CEO Ted Deutch confirmed they hosted an event at the museum Wednesday evening.

The attack occurred during a reception hosted by the American Jewish Committee’s DC Young Professional Board.

According to witnesses, a man entered the museum shortly after the shooting, wearing a keffiyeh and shouting “Free Palestine” before being removed by police.

Things are heating up quite a bit it would seem. Violence seems to be more and more normalized, and in fucking DC? Just insane. This Israel thing is going to come to a head, and it isn't going to be pretty.
edit: Name of the guy in custody is Elias Rodriguez, per lookner's stream, DC press conference.

Two? Those are rookie numbers in this game. You gotta pump those numbers up.

Meanwhile this is basically a warm Tuesday in Chicago but nobody in the media gets all worked up about that.

This is the Danny Danon who is an enthusiastic supporter of Zionist ethnonationalism and has been working hard for years to cleanse Israel of gentiles and refugees. He’s one of the most racist people alive. The idea that he’s the UN ambassador is hilarious, if there was a button that killed every gentile in Israel tomorrow, he’d be the first in line to push it.

(After this got out the Australian politician got raked over the coals and he and Danon denied the conversation ever took place, LOL)

Anybody else hear this as a threat? Wish the government would stop inviting them to tread on us and send them all back to their little sandbox kingdom. Starting with the backstabbing Mossad spies and Netanyahu's douchebag son

Hah, serves them right
You spend decades pushing your gay agenda of "white people are oppressors, feel bad about yourselves", and replacing white people with browns who don't give a fuck, eventually the psyop breaks to the other side and bites you in the ass
Boomers won't protect them for much longer
