I know the Communist party in Russia is mostly supported by older people who want the USSR back, unlike in America where most communists are teenage idiots. There used to be a belt across Russia where the Communist party carried support; is that where most of the antifa come from?

I'd say Russian antifa being harder is more due to communism carrying mainstream support among real men who aren't wimpy college kids.

People can get used to literally any way of life. It never surprises me to find there are people who defend and idealize the situations they grew up in, no matter how brutal.
