Eugenia Cooney - Youtube's Reigning uwu Cute, Emo ana-chan Supreme, had a child molester for a discord moderator

If you're seriously dehydrated getting an IV drip in is going to be difficult and potentially quite painful.
It is quite difficult and painful, I've experienced that before (unrelated to any ED, I was really sick), and I wasn't as severely dehydrated as Eugenia.

If she's truly getting electrolytes/vitamin IVs, it would be a daily thing? Once a week? I don't remember seeing any marks on her arms indicating that, and I remember having hematomas from the needles.

I honestly don't think she's getting any kind of IV. Pretty sure she would be terrified of the water blowing her up and making her """fat""". She probably just sips on some drink since she would have much more control over a drink than she would over liquids entering her veins. I think the lack of control would scare her.

Once they lose their pretty young faces the disease just becomes all that more apparent and young girls no longer want to look like them.
Part of the psychology of some anorexics is fear of puberty and aging. They want to appear like an ageless young girl forever, without curves, without a period, and without breasts, but still feminine in a totally desexualized way. Looking like an old hag is inevitable whether you starve yourself or not, but it comes sooner for those who starve themselves. Eugenia is an uncomfortable reminder of that reality.

Is there much overlap with pooners then? Seems at least superficially similiar.

This is one of those things I’ve pondered a lot, but you’re not allowed to say it in public lest you be accused of wrongthink. So, it’s widely accepted that anorexics for the most part struggle with intense body dysmorphia. They look in the mirror and see an overweight, misshapen lump of a person, when in reality they may be wasting away and anyone looking at them would see a frighteningly thin person. In an effort to correct this perceived obesity, they restrict calories, engage in exercise purging (or actual purging), or whatever other unhealthy behaviors they cling to. We recognize that this is a mental illness where there is a disconnect between their actual body and their perceived body, and it causes immense stress and damage to them physically, so we offer therapy and other treatments to help them learn to see themselves in a realistic and more healthy fashion. We don’t indulge them and go “hey fatass, you’re right, you could really lose a few more pounds! Hop back on that treadmill for a few more hours, YAAAS QUEEN!” And to suggest that would be absolutely insane.

Then we get trans people, who look in the mirror and insist the body they see does not match the body they feel they SHOULD have. It is all wrong and causes them immense distress. And instead of trying to figure out why someone has such a massive disconnect between their actual, physical body and their perception of what their body should be, we just encourage them to start loading up on hormones and hacking pieces of themselves off then we call them brave for doing it.

To me they seem like incredibly similar delusional mindsets, but for some reason we treat one like the psychological issue it is and the other like it’s some bastion of modern empowerment. I think they’re both rooted in self loathing, but we’re only allowed to address it publicly with anorexia.

While I do think she has some other issues the go a bit deeper people underestimate the toxicity of the modelling industry especially during the time Eugenia got into it.

This is what she looked like when she was entering the industry around 2012-ish. She would have been 17 years old here. Healthier, right?

Edit and she was already thinking of herself as fat by the the comment she left.

Body dysmorphia is fucking wild. This is one of the best pics of her that exist, by any metric, yet she thinks it's terrible. It's like she lives in an upside-down world where ugly is beautiful, and beautiful is ugly. I kind of wish there were a such thing as a pair of glasses that lets you see the world through other people's eyes, because I wish I could understand what she sees.

I have become convinced, from a religious perspective, that some of that transgenderism stuff is based in a philosophy called gnosticism. I think it is like other EDs, they deny the natural world and science. The mind and heart can lie even to deceive yourself, but your bones and teeth do not.

To any astrophysicists subscribed to this thread: Do we have any detailed descriptions or depictions of how Eugenia (at her current weight) might look if exposed to the Martian atmosphere? I’m afraid any AI-assisted software I use is yielding little information; and insists on increasing the size of her bust.

This is actually a very nice picture of her: she looks really pretty and happy, and it’s good to see her with normal clothes, hair and make up for a change.

It’s absurd that she thinks it’s “terrible”. You can’t even see her body so I wonder if she’s not actually griping about her weight here.

ETA the fact she was wearing normal 2012 clothing shows that at 17, she’d grown out of the emo phase. Therefore her emo shtick is not arrested development, but age regression.

There’s definitely a connection - wanting to stay young forever, excessive and unrealistic focus on appearance, a dislike/ disconnect from their own physical body, wanting to control either themselves or others, and pervasive lying and manipulation while trying to seem very innocent/ morally superior.

A lot of us noted that when trans was on the ascendant (from about 2014) until it started to rapidly lose popularity which is very recent, anorexia kind of went away. Not totally but it wasn’t the social contagion it used to be. The theory is that both anorexia and trans are social contagions that attract the same type of girls, so trans basically absorbed the girls who otherwise would’ve been anorexic. Pooners themselves definitely seem to get fat after they start testosterone so it doesn’t seem comorbid, although I’ve heard of pooners who had anorexia, then transitioned and the anorexia went away.

That's the preview text for the OP of the linked thread, written by someone else, that you're replying to. For what it's worth, I'm aware Ellen went from portraying Lahey's daughter to doing projects involving cats and/or ghosts which were somehow more dignified than the rest of her life.
