Have some hope. America ironically went through the same crisis a century ago. Dr J is right some groups got counted as White, true - they bothered to assimilate and more or less outside surnames act White. I can see his thought on how White it was in 1990 as well with Hispanics finally being counted as their own group in the past 1990 census and not lumped with Whites.
A 50% decline in a particular demographic over 30 years is not reversible unless you genocide all of the other tribes.
Is it really a decline? The US population has increased by 100 million people since 1992. I think it's less that the white population is declining so much as the hispanic population is exploding due to mass migration

Most of the American population growth these past decades is almost entirely from the mass Hispanic immigration that itself is driving the demographic percentage shock as well, with the actual White numbers themselves still genuinely increasing - if slowly - from the past 30 years outside any other factor. Thankfully 88 to 57 is also just 31 percent than 50, so every bit of hope counts.
