You must live in a borderline schizophrenic propaganda bubble if you unironically hold these two beliefs at the same time (my guess is you live either in the US or the UK). What Trump is doing is like (a right wing, post-modern version of?) soviet socialism but with 30-40 IQ points less than the USSR, and China's take on socialism since Deng Xiaoping has proven to be superior to the soviet experiment by all metrics except for maybe military power.

I'm not saying there isnt a lot to criticize about current China, I don't have any illusions about it, but saying trumpism is superior to dengism makes 0 sense: one is currently undermining the hegemony of the biggest and most powerful empire the world has seen while the other took an extremely impoverished, famine riddled, backwards nation and opened it to the world and made it the second superpower in the world in less than 100 years, with very significant improvements in the quality of life of the poorest people there.

In all fairness China since Deng Xiaoping hasn't been truly communist in the slightest (I am not saying this pejoratively). They're doing state capitalism, in fact I'd say they along with Israel are the closest thing in existence to actual fascism, ethnocentrism included.
The fact that these two countries cause extreme cognitive dissonance to the direction-brained amerimutt mind is just an extremely funny bonus

I know very little about the current philosophy behind the CCP, so take this with a grain of salt, but from what I remember from some stuff I read years ago, they see their current economic strategy as a part of a very, very, VERY long game towards real Communism™, because they don't think there can be any type of shortcuts (political, military, like Mao or the USSR did) towards it, they think it can only happen organically from worldwide capitalism. Thats why they are minmaxxing capitalism so hard while at the same time "doing nothing". They seem to believe in some sort of "zen-acceleracionism", if that makes any sense, but they are still communists ideologically. But China, if not communist in praxis, is a socialist country for sure, and the most succesful one in the history of socialism by far, which is full of failures, which is why I find what that other poster said so baffling

They (China) have elements of ur-fascism for sure (so does NATO), but I find this association a bit forced, mainly because if they really were that close to the other historical manifestations of fascism that we know of, they would be a lot more self-destructive, at least IMO. Israel is kind of like that, since their current actions towards Palestine are so unhinged that its starting to backfire and is making anti-semitism to be on the raise in the US which is pretty crazy, and it seems european liberal democracies are getting a bit tired of them too, and if they lose the support they have from west too fast, they may be in real existential danger.
In contrast to this, China has earned a good reputation as a stable country to do bussines with, when they are agressive they kind of keep a low profile instead of leaning on the aesthetics of heroism very common in historical fascism, they dont seem to worship action for the sake of action like Israel does (see their "war between wars" military doctrine), they try to appear as neutral as possible, etc., and during these last months european liberal democracies have started looking at them with better eyes (at least on trade), in part because of the actions of Blompf but also because they have worked on not being seen as chaotic fanatics. From this perspective, they have followed the opposite direction Israel and other fascist states from the past did. If what they do could be called fascism, its a pretty sui-generis type, and at that point I don't think we would be using the correct word. Its like when people who have no problems reading other peoples emotions get diagnosed with autism, it makes the term a bit meaningless.

I agree (and I include Russia there), but I don't blame them, we mainly understand politics with concepts that were created to describe a very different geopolitical reality to the one we live in, and they are also almost all western in origin. Places like China might as well be different planets when we try to apply these concepts to them, at least if we dont first try to understand how they have re-interpreted these western ideas to fit in their own world, which can be pretty hard because of language barriers, censorship, etc.

I think a lot of the leadership recognizes this is all a losing platform. It’s why they’re making such a big deal out of the reconciliation bill, they know they’re going to lose the midterms hard after all this bullshit.

So the only major legislation that may happen this year will be their one bill before they resign themselves to losing to the Democrats.

It really is perfectly fine to say that certain institutions have outlived their usefulness.

Why do Cubans think they are white again? Shit-skin is a pretty vague and broad spectrum of color last time I checked. Shit Black's have more of a reason to stay if anything considering a lot have been in the country since inception( not by choice obviously).
