I'm mostly out of theories as to why. "Divorce rape" is too easy. Most of those assets are protected. My current hunch is that she was prepared to spill on his dosing his kid with cocaine. That would be life-ruining for him.

This is similar to a schizo theory I've pondered for quite some time, whereby Nick was perhaps reading up on the Calhoun mouse utopia experiments one afternoon and a new strategy for dealing with increased attention from the Farms finally dawned on him: just intentionally adopt and embrace every lolcow trait and force-feed so many unhinged meltdowns' unlimited supply of milk that it eventually triggers the behavioral sink phenomenon that thrusts the overindulged Kiwi population into societal collapse and extinction.
