The books are very mid, nothingburger choices. The Japanese book is just a "cozy fantasy" about a cafe run by cats, then there's a John Green book (The Fault in our Stars, Looking for Alaska, woke youtuber guy) and she probably bought the Miranda July book (or just put it in the bag) for the aesthetics. She's just buying things.
I genuinely don't know if I'm biased against Anisa because I know her unemployed history, but even fans of hockey self-insert romance show more passion towards their hobby.
