Wasn't that because of a combination of factors? Mainly their failure to target US carriers during pearl harbor, and superior US manufacturing capacity?
Their assumptions were faulty and they underestimated how fast the United States would respond. Pearl Harbor was supposed to be a preemptive strike that set back naval capabilities in the Pacific in a major way but it didn't do enough in the grand scheme of things.

Who outproduced who? The Japanese entered the war with much more experience than the Americans
The japs had the ship advantage for the start of the war another example of big navy’s getting btfoed by smaller ones is the Spanish getting clowned on by the British and later getting clowned on by Americans. Big navy only works if you keep up with modern warfare tactics.

To be fair, fighting with outdated strategy and tactics is often going to end in failure to some degree no matter what regardless if a battle is taking place on land, at sea or in the sky.

Failure to adapt is just as bad. The United States is just as guilty of this and has "lost" to angry peasants and cave dwellers because they wanted to fight their way instead of adapting to do what was necessary to win.

There was many points involved but having fucked up boat configurations such as half carriers and getting waffle stomped in the battle of midway is more of problem then their reliance on their Chinese holdings for the resources to pump out shit ships.
Battle of Midway was a very close thing, we largely won it because one of their scout flights failed to spot our carriers and communicate that fact, and we got the drop on them because they were operating under the wrong doctrine due to that reconnaissance oversight. Moreover, even getting the carrier group into place for that battle involved insanely rushed repairs at Pearl Harbor and carefully foiling Japanese attempts to gain info on our fleet movements. It was one of the battles that the War in the Pacific hinged on, and it could have gone the other way had the Japanese had just a few extra pieces of intel.

We “lost” to them because we refused to go complete total war on them which is good or bad depending on your perspective.

The Japanese attack at pearl harbor was meant to give the Japs time to conquer the Pacific Islands, like the Philippines and other smaller Islands.

They thought they would get about six months before America would be able to launch a counter attack. The expectation was to dig in and that it would become to costly, and that America wouldn't be willing to lose the amount of men it would take to dislodge the Japs.

They were right, that it would take about six months for America to launch their attack, they were wrong about how willing Americans would be to fight.

Almost paradoxically the Japs where right that carriers would be the future of Naval Warfare, but America didn't have any carriers at Pearl Harbor.
Meaning that there attack, while devastating to the ships in at Pearl Harbor, was not as crippling as it could have been.

If you mean Vietnam and Afghanistan it wouldn't of mattered how well the military adapted because the strategy at the top was flawed. In the former's case, the United States always possessed the means to properly invade North Vietnam and knock it out as soon as possible but didn't want to risk another Chinese intervention which is what happened in the then recent Korean War. Meanwhile with Afghanistan the USA propped up an incompetent government that had an issue with corruption, bad morale issues and lacked legitimacy in the eyes of the people.

I don't think anyone really knows how a naval war with China would go. We don't know all the capabilities or materiel of each side, it's obviously largely classified and nothing any poster could possibly be an expert on. The best rule of thumb is just to look at which country is bigger on the map. We're kind of similar size countries on the map so it could probably go either way. Coin flip outcome

A: By the second generation of kids, (the immigrants grandkids) this stops. Asians who were raised by parents born here are almost identical to white kids in terms of interests and performance and general attitude. Average to lazy, decent to good grades, experiment with drugs and partying, will only do things they're interested in. They want to be influencers and gamers not engineers and doctors.
B: For the past 10 years the intensity of this stereotype even for second generation immigrants has dramatically lessened. Anecdotal evidence, but my vietnamese coworker's parents basically got blackpilled by having their degrees become absoleted by some computer program, 40 years of torturous tiger parenting down the shitter.
I have political dealings with the Vietnamese, and this dude is one hundred percent correct.
Asians are unironically a lot closer to White people in terms of how they act by gen 2 or so over here, y'know just a different flavor a bit but you see similar trends. As for the youth, man it's looking rough for them tbh.

Then you had all of a sudden the Boomers didn't want their grandkids treated like they treated their kids so laws started slamming down keeping you from even telling your kid "no" or anything like that
This annoys me like you would not believe, and I'm 110% convinced this is why kids are the way they are these days.

Spoiled rotten bastards that can never be told "no", never be disciplined, and have the entire world in their hands in the form of a phone/tablet, so by the time they grow up they act like they know everything when in reality they don't know shit about fuck.

I had an argument with someone about this a long time ago. The dumbass had the audacity to say me playing my fucking Game Gear at age 8 was the same thing as a 7 year old with an smartphone.

I talked about this with my wife. She was reading the bible and got to the New Testament. We had a conversation about it and I told her the basic summary of the beginning of the bible is that God chooses the Jews, the Jews fuck over every chance they get, so God sends his son to Earth to die so everyone but the Jews get to go to Heaven.
It's worth pointing out that it was the plan all along.

Says a lot that there was no universe in which all of the pharisees stopped and went 'Hey all the common people like him and are convinced he's the messiah, he's also performing legitimate miracles... might we be the bad guys?', doesn't it.

What engaging in premarital sex does to a mf. How about you just be sensible and track your wife's cycle? You can fill her womb as much as you like so long as she has a regular cycle and you pick the right days. Never had a pregnancy scare, never used a condom except the very first time.
This is a weird Puritanical flex that also misses my point, which is that using protection works. You can have all the holy, wifely sex that you want but that is not what a lot of men and women are doing out there. Condoms work. Birth control works. Hell, abstinence technically works, although pro-abstinence campaigns have been a complete failure for decades. It is super-duper easy to avoid unwanted pregnancies by using protection. I don't think that's a controversial statement.

The Rhythm Method is how China ended up with a billion people. If you think that shit works you’ve never actually tried it. A woman’s body will find ways to get herself pregnant. Life finds a way.
