The Linux Thread - The Autist's OS of Choice

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I've had to do the same thing. Is it supposed to switch the executable from the installer to the game automatically? It's never been annoying enough to prompt me to look into it.
I just assume that it should do that. It says install success but then doesn't work and requires more work. Maybe it's functioning as intended and I'm wrong idk

My cursor has always frozen with my amd gpu. The only fix I found was to enable software cursor. Software cursor also seems to have lower latency for whatever reason, even lower than on windows.
Anybody's cursor freezes on kernel 6.12,29 and above or 6.14.8 with amdgpu? Some retard decided to backport broken driver to LTS kernel. Good job.
For now I will revert to 6.12.27 because it was working perfectly fine on that one.
Code:
[drm] *ERROR* dc_dmub_srv_log_diagnostic_data: DMCUB error - collecting diagnostic data
I saw some others experience it on Arch and Manjaro, so I will wait for someone else to report it for me, not in a mood getting my hands dirty.

Edit. Looks like that one

How about no? I like my freesync.

FWIW: Fedora 42, using GNOME 48, X11 session, and tracking the most recent kernels. GNOME Shell chugs ever so slightly but it’s highly noticeable, there’s a disconnect between when I click something vs when the window pops up. I am an AMDGPU user too; what logs, greps, or full dmesg outputs do I need to see if it is indeed this regression?

That may be true but xxthrowaway's problem was exceptionally retarded so it can't be used as an example.
It doesn't matter.

Others who are having problems see that shit, and since they don't know enough to know it was a retard asking for help for his own retardation, the hostility in the response is what will drive them off.

I've seen way too many Linux users who, out of one side of their mouth, wonder why Linux isn't growing, then turn around and give that kind of hostility to new users out of the other side, and never seem to get that that attitude is the biggest problem.

If you actually want an answer out of those kinds of faggots, just post something incredibly wrong.

You could also just try the mainline kernel. And see if it's fine there. That should be around 6.15.0 now. Probably depending on your distro.

It's pronounced guh-NOME. So much for authenticity.

The hard G hasn't meant anything since GNOME stopped being an acronym for "GNU Network Object Model Environment." Unlike Xfce, which decided to go all-lowercase because it switched from the XForms toolkit (hence XForms Common Environment) to GTK+ however many decades, the vitriolic manchildren who head the GNOME Foundation are more focused on COC drama and proliferating JavaScript outside of the web browser like war criminals. If they're more preoccupied with spiting their dwindling userbase than they are with acronym continuity, you know something's fucked.

Hotdog fingered homosexualist tranny chaser 'Cathode Ray Dude' made a good video that, through covering a fantastic piece of software for Windows 3.1x/95, explains the beauty and superiority of X11 over Wayland and other tranny/jeet-based display systems.

Does he go on weird political tirades in this one too? I won't bother if so, it's all so tiresome. I briefly watched him until I noticed the tranny pride flag and then my suspicions were confirmed when he started sperging out about shit in one of his videos. It's a shame, but what can you do.

I do agree that X11 is great, though, and it's a shame that with Redhat dropping support it will probably Start to rot, considering they were the ones keeping it alive, IIRC (though I am interested in being proven wrong if otherwise). Openbox is still the most problem free environment I have used ever including with any other OS.

They should just give him merge rights so he cant be more efficient.
He also got into a fight with linus about vaccines once: https://lkml.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/2106.1/04596.html
