I experienced this first hand at work as well.
Not to power level and ramble on: rumor about two coworkers having an affair. Someone asks me about it and I say something dismissive offhand because I don't really care. Somehow woman in alleged affair finds out I said something and blows the fuck up at me 20 minutes left in the shift before Christmas break. Threatens to take me to hr, how dare I spread rumors, brings up another co-worker's dead husband, etc.
Fast forward a few months and I'm in a different area and I find out that they came clean and were indeed having an affair.
Nobody blows up that much unless there's truth to it.

Whilst I do have a fairly adequate ability to lip-read, which I have to use to supplement my poor hearing, lip-reading men with beards has always thrown a spanner in the works for me. Especially given the low-quality snip I saw, but I'll go back and give it another go if one of the other vids is sharper. Also bearing in mind that American accents (and therefore mouth shapes) are another hurdle for me.
More interesting, in the absence of seeing what he is saying, is his body language. People have mentioned their interpretations of it already, but this is how I understand his actions:

Putting the stream onto Private is strange, does he just not want people lip reading the call? Something is definitely afoot though.

He's definitely shaken and worried, but with the type of apprehension that comes with negative personal consequences. If he'd had a call saying something like "one of the children has fallen over and broken their wrist - come to the hospital", I would expect to see urgency in his body language; sitting or leaning forward, listening intently, focused. Instead, he is leaning back, stretching, fiddling with his shirt collar, and looking around. He wants to escape that conversation. Something is not good *for him*, rather than a family accident, pug still trapped in bathroom and has now set the house on fire in an attempt at freedom etc.
He's also not appearing to get angry or annoyed with whoever is on the other end of the phone - we know that he is very prone to being rude, sarcastic, and bolshy if he is speaking with someone that he either does not like, thinks he is socially/intellectually above, or does not care about how they view him. He seems to be worried but accepting, almost like he has to behave himself.

I went back through this thread around the Oct. 2023 time frame trying to find something and I came across posts discussing Nick's lateness and cancellations of nightly streams. When he was pressed about it, his default excuse came in two flavors, either it was a "surprise date night in the cities" or "something something driving kids." The later was especially something that we heavily speculated on as to why kids, especially ones at the ages his are at, need to be driven around at 11pm or later at night on a week day?
Well, now we know why he was late to streams or why he cancelled them; he needed to buy drugs.
His family were always his scapegoat when he wanted to hide what he was doing or what was happening, because it meant no other explanation was needed to his viewers.
Just like today...
