It really is a female's dream come true, an excuse to have all of the extravagance of high society in this big fancy nice castle, but aimed at power used for genuine good in the more naive sense. I never liked harry potter that much growing up and only read the first few books, there wasn't enough straight up guns and violence and fighting for my tastes personally. But by modern standards? Dear god it's a masterpiece.

A genuinely engaging world. Really probably one of the last original fantasy settings made that I found to be ACTUALLY full of passion and soul. Only exceptions would be mass effect (which started shitting the bed by its second installment and just went straight down) Pirates of the carribean (same) and firefly which just straight up died in the cradle.

The best move for troonkind would be to just avoid the topice of harry potter, the more they give these ultimatums the more support they're going to lose and they have hardly any left.

Apparently, the US Appeals Court has reinstated Trump's tariffs during the appeal against the Federal courts that blocked it.

This is in the Federal Circuit—a unique appellate court that mostly deals with appeals in patent and trademark cases. All the judges have legitimate STEM backgrounds—engineering, chemistry, physics, etc. They rarely deal with political things. I don't think there's any predictor for how they'll rule on this type of issue, but I am pretty sure that issuing a stay is a good sign. If this were the First Circuit, the Ninth Circuit, etc. a stay would never have been issued because le orange man bad.

Property taxes and eminent domain are as old as recorded human history. How either is handled by a government decides if people see it as a glorified organized crime syndicate or an entity making necessary actions to keep the country afloat.
