I can help you with that.

The police/sheriff have alot of power, but one good thing is that they dont get to decide if your charged with a crime, they can only get evidence and try to trick you. I often tell my students "if a LEO wants to put you in the back of the car and take you to jail they can."

But its the DA that makes the choice on if and what to charge you with.

This mean the DA has a reason to work with the sherif and vice/versa. So if the sherif says I dont want to release the video of this shit show, the DA has a motive as simple as wanting to keep a good working relationship with the sherif.

There is a million bleeding heart arguments on why the footage shouldnt be released. Rekita deserves none of them. Him going back to streaming it stupid and never shoulda been allowed.

I wish the plea deal included him being forced to settle all other legal problems like monty and fucking hell he need at least 6 months in jail to fucking detox, and get some ralph treatment

I’m skeptical that the footage will be released, Lolcows of Nick’s caliber have the propensity to embarrass not their families, but even people who have small interactions with them. That being said, my dream of events would be that the footage is denied, Nick boots up a stream to gloat and 20-30 minutes in a certain public records drops footage of the footage and we get to see the optimism lost in real time.
