Central to the woke worship of the Eads story has always been the claim that no doctor would see her because the doctors feared it would harm their reputations. That's never made sense to me, especially because it's "doctors" plural.

It was 1998, not 1898. Doctors treat not only serial killers but also mimes. And who knows who a doctor is treating aside from a small number of staff (HIPAA was passed in 1996, making it against the law to disseminate patient information)? One doctor might decline, but why state that it was to protect his or her practice? For multiple doctors to have done that? Ha, no.

Other explanations for Eads going untreated seem more plausible but can't be corroborated. In any event, the troonery finds the "It Was Murder" scenario so useful and gratifying that no proof to the contrary would ever be anything but a genocide cover-up.

Fear is/can be part of it. Like most things, it's a little more complex than it seems.

The truth is, guilt is a powerful emotion. We are taught about slavery and how bad it was, and for modern day scholars, the realize just how bad it was. So bad, they can barely comprehend it. So they make sure that it's always taught as bad, but instead of leaving it at that, educators at different levels drill it in hard. This leaves a lot of white students feeling something awful, even/especially if they don't interact with black people much as familiarity with another race just makes you see them as another human.


The other reason? Americans LOVE underdogs. It's what our country was built on, from a colony fighting off the empire of Britain for the right to be free to our ancestors being immigrants and most choosing to come for a better life, starting from humbler backgroungs. Being an underdog is virtuous: you can see it in both our media and all political parties framing themselves as the underdog in any situation. Slavery and segregation taught us black people were underdogs, thus seeing black people as a whole as more of a character than a group of people with different characteristics and opinions. Human psych is weird like that.

Classic leftist thinking of grouping "the oppressed" (gays/lesbians, tranners, blacks, muslims, poors, disabled) together even though these groups hate each other and are completely different. They probably don’t even consider people like Tim Cook as gay/queer because he has his life together and isn’t on disability aid or something.

Oh the identity crowd have already spoken about stuff like that for years. Pete Buttigieg wasn't queer enough for them, because he was a mainstream Democrat who might have been gay, but he is a white, upper-middle class man in a committed relationship. And that's fucking poison to them.

I saw a YT short the other day that was basically: "Trans men can be lesbians. Because lesbian is a culture and identity, not just sexuality, and if a trans man has lived in this culture for half his life how dare you take this away from him. Imagine how difficult the transition already is for him, now imagine if you excluded him from lesbian spaces and he lost all his friends. If you do that then maybe ask yourself if YOU are actually a lesbian."

Aside that you can still remain friends if you‘re not the same sexuality - just goes to show how some consider being gay a funny identity and "culture" instead of a sexual attraction. We went full circles from stereotypes to "gays just want to live a normal life" back to "if you’re gay and live a normal life you’re not gay".
