Sharing some critique and asking the very expected question about 40oz's insistence of ruining his own baby. Of course, he got instantly butthurt, like the giant diva that he is, and suspended me from Doomer Boards. This level of retardation i don't expect even from Troonworld mods, but it's 40oz we're talking about, so...
I guess i'm done with the DBPs as well, i was making a map for DBP74, that i guess i'll release on my own. Nice job, buddy, keep pushing away mappers.

That's why he'll rather spam subpar DBPs every month with 6-7 maps in them, half of which are his own.

The one month cycle is the exact reason why I stopped working on my map for 73 since I didnt believe I would be able to complete something satisfactory in that amount of time. When I eventually learned 40oz added an extra month I was pretty annoyed considering I was interested in this resource pack when it was first being put together.

Everyone agrees that the sets that had two month cycles are superior to the boring monthly slop that 40 usually puts out. Its incredibly frustrating to watch decent to good concepts end with half assed releases on such a consistant basis

I don't understand this approach either. He knows that given more time he would end up with better product after all and yet... Guess some things do not change.

Welp, I think I've previously mentioned that DBP might become Troonworld 2.0 in the future. I guess that's slowly coming true. I'd post in moddb of all places instead at this point if ever I became a Doom mapper than deal with retardation like this.
 
well there's gonna be another troonworld project to laugh at in 7 or so days on the bright side, since it's that month again.

I have nothing but respect for Matador. I wish i was level-headed as him, always able to find the positives, but in this case i can't agree with his take. Yeah, the DBPs have been 1-month projects since the beginning, and they have proven in the past that you can make good things in a short period of time, but that's not really my concern. I'm worried about the now. Moving on to a 2-month cycle throughout the entirety of 2024 felt like the projects were taking a new step to improvement. It felt good, there was time to make the maps, playtest, help others, make necessary changes when needed, and most importantly, you got more mappers, many DBP debutants and overall the projects became more varied and interesting. I think that was a great positive, considering how many of the old school DBP mappers no longer participate. To all of a sudden go back from that to the old schedule is jarring, and you will keep losing mappers in the process.

I didn't realize this until @BearInThaWoods mentioned it, but even the current DBP was started as a 1-month project and got extended midway through, which i would've been pissed about too if i had to abandon a map idea thinking i wouldn't have the time to finish it. All i'm asking is, what's the point of going back to the old formula at all, when it is counterproductive by all accounts? Why spam subpar projects, when you can take your time and keep up the good run that was set between 64 and 70? Give me one good reason. It's like a game studio going for a flurry of underdeveloped cashgrab releases, except no one is getting paid here, so what is it, 40oz? Just racking up the numbers for no good reason? Rushing to reach 100? Because i'm afraid you're not getting a prize for that milestone either.

After the Troonworld ban the DBPs needed to keep going strong. Dropping forgettable releases is not the way. You can tell 40oz is rushing his maps too and leaving his hands all over the last two DBPs. He's a good mapper and when he tries to deliver good shit, he does - Zeppelin Armada is a prime example of that. Recently he did some cool maps for DBP68 and 70, but his 71-72 offerings are just generic baby slop through and through, which hurts these releases even more, because with the lack of contributions he basically takes 1/3 of the slots... here's another reason why with more mappers you get better and more varied projects.

To be honest considering his involvement in this thread and the kiwi dreams thread, banning him would be EXTREMELY fucking retarded. And its timing after agitating marisa the magician on the KFdoom moddb is a bit suspicious

He thought the same too, that it wasn't really the farms but outsiders.

The whole drama is that he briefly was involved in dating a woman who was above the age of consent in his country, but under 18 despite breaking it off / feeling guilty about it later. He's in russia so its not some "9 year old muslim girl" bs, it was 16-17(?), which is legal where hes from, nothing was even done to my knowledge, and he felt bad about it despite it being legal. THATS LITERALLY IT, no shit about nudes being spread, no abuse, just "hey, you talked to a girl under 18 when its legal where you live" and people lost their shit. There was also some shit about how she was kinda crazy and coerced HIM into it which seemed had been an issue too. I didn't even see any confirmation they DID anything sexual.

I think its PRETTY fucking autistic to worry way too much when its non Americans JUST not following american laws, outside america entirely. I get pedophilia justifiably has a lot of hate but FFS, besides muslim countries which might be different, 16 IS literally the global average for age of consent. And I find it stupid to basically call the entire rest of the world pedophiles PURELY because americas AOC is above average. And if theres NOTHING else presented as a smoking gun, it seems pretty fucking stupid. He wasn't in the states, he obeyed local laws in russia, and theres literally nothing else presented besides that.

All that makes me a little suspicious it was retaliation from marisa the magician and the sort.
