I agree with this sentiment. The religious population of the county is likely to work in Nick's favour in this instance. I forsee Null having to go outside the district to enforce the Bodycam's release.
The judicial system has probably had its fill of Nick for the next five years and don't want him in the courtroom bitching and moaning. In their mind, they got Nick like they wanted, buckbroken to behave for the foreseeable future. What does releasing the bodycam footage do but jeopardise that effort if he crashes out because of it? What does his innocent children and (legally) innocent wife suffer?
Do I think Nick is a lying liar who bullshitted for over a year that his kids were never harmed? Yes. Now an accurate description has come out with trusted sources, he's all too ready to admit to it.
Should we have the footage to disprove his lies and back up our sources, Yes. Nick flipflops on the harm he causes to his kids based on the interested party talking to him.
But does the county see the value in it? A largely religious one taught the value of mercy? I think we'll need the hard cold letter of the law from a higher authority to force them to get over their moral quandary and do what they are ordered to do.
