Call your Kokiri cousins and blow the Ocarina of Time, because the internet just exploded with Triforce-sized hype. In what may go down as one of the most deliciously nerdy casting rumors of the decade, Hunter Schafer the ethereal, otherworldly star of Euphoria, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, and the upcoming Blade Runner 2099 series is reportedly being eyed to play Princess Zelda in the long-awaited Legend of Zelda live-action film.
That’s right. The rumored casting was dropped by industry insider Daniel Richtman, and while he’s been a bit of a Gossip Stone in the past (some hits, some misses), this time? Fans are hoping it’s the real deal. The rumor was first spotlighted by Screen Time, and now every enchanted bottle in the fandom is rattling with excitement.

“She Looks Just Like Zelda”: The Tweets That Summoned the Goddesses

Within minutes of the rumor hitting social media, Twitter turned into Hyrule Town Square. The people did not just react. They transformed into sages of validation.
“She looks just like Zelda that’s actually perfect,” one fan tweeted, probably while clutching their Master Sword in joy.
“I swear to God if they cast a man as princess Zelda I will riot,” another declared, invoking the wrath of Din herself.
“Literally the most perfect candidate but they won’t want her to play Zelda,” lamented a prophet of fan-casting history.
“Please lord almighty I hate the idea of live action Zelda but she would actually save the movie,” one fan admitted with honesty we rarely see on the timeline.
“I do not care what a bunch of phobic assholes have to say, she literally looks like Zelda and would be perfect,” wrote another, defending their queen like a true member of the Sheikah tribe.
“The comments are making me so mad she literally is Zelda. Like she looks exactly like I’d imagine Zelda looking IRL,” someone else echoed, probably shouting it at the Moon.
“If Zelda is played by a trans woman, I will be so, so happy,” said another tweet that’s now being embroidered on tunics across the fandom.

Zelda Movie Is Real, And It’s Already a Cultural Event

Let’s not forget. Nintendo officially confirmed the Legend of Zelda live-action movie in 2023 in collaboration with Sony Pictures. It is being produced by Avi Arad, the man behind the Spider-Man and Uncharted movies, and it is already facing massive pressure to get casting right.
No official casting announcements have been made yet, but we know that the studio is reportedly seeking a younger actor for Link, with Walker Scobell (of The Adam Project and Percy Jackson) being the type they are circling like a Poe in a graveyard. Meanwhile, Tom Holland’s name remains on everyone’s lips for reasons that defy logic, gravity, and possibly good taste.
But Schafer as Zelda? This is a casting that makes sense both narratively and visually. She’s got the ethereal beauty, the royal poise, and the kind of quiet magical energy that makes you believe she could literally shatter a Moblin with one glance.

Schafer’s Resume Is Already Hyrule-Ready

Let’s not kid ourselves. Hunter Schafer has range. She’s already brought nuance and mysticism to roles in Euphoria and Hunger Games. And with the Blade Runner universe on her horizon, she’s proving she can handle high-concept genre storytelling with ease.

I used to think Link was supposed to be named Zelda back in the day. Can't wait to see the drama if this is true.

Ganondorf can't be a Jew, because he turns into a pig at the end, which doesn't seem like a very Jewish thing to do. You know, what with them keeping kosher and that.
The og gerudo symbol was a muslim moon+star, but behaviorally it's more jew wizard trickery and boasting. he's like a combo of every big nosed middle easterner.

Actually, according to Jew or not Jew, because Jews don't tend to eat themselves, they're actually more likely to be non-Kosher animals

Ganondorf always struck me as more gypsy, though
I just don't get the hype for this tranny. It just looks like a gangly guy with long hair.

He passes worse than a few other trannies off the top of my head. Is it just because he's not hideous like most hons?
There is no hype, he's astroturfed to fuck, like all trannies

It's all so fucking tiresome lmao, jesus fucking christ just adapt something faithfully for once.

no that's the round ear desert tribe ganon comes from.

his nose got less pointy in later games but it's still fucking huge.
The Gerudo. But the weird thing about that is they’re all women, I know there’s some lore about how he was born from an all woman tribe, but I can’t remember. Maybe there was a surrogacy or something.

I believe the official word is that Gerudo women fuck non-Gerudo men. Any girls born of the union look like their mothers, with red hair and dark skin, and any boys born of the union look like their fathers, like light skinned Hyruleans. Ganondorf was one of those weird mutant boys who was born looking like a Gerudo, and according to legend, that made him their automatic leader. Not sure if the lore has changed since LoZ: Ocarina of Time, but that's how it was originally.

No it's, the Gerudo only give birth to girls (because that's how genetics work in the Zelda universe, apparently). Once every 100 years a Gerudo woman will birth a male, and that male is entitled to become their leader

Some people see a guy with long hair, some see a ‘girl’ making them question their sexuality. Perspectives are funny like that.

They kidnap and/or romance men, and are implied to like throw out male babies until the 100 year mark because of prophecy of leadership. You literally have to rescue the carpenters from them in ocarina of time, the first game they show up in lmao.

EDIT: got beaten to it lmao, with the further explanation about the whole gene thing.

Honestly never got the link being gay joke. He was always fucking the hot chick's in the games.

Anywhere, it's nor gonna happen. Japanese dudes don't fuck with homos
Link has Hyrulean 10's and royalty from other races chasing after him. Even if he's not fucking any he's living one of the most prominent male fantasies of all time

>Saving hoes for 40 years
>Never had a kid

Anon, I…
TP link is the son of OOT/majora's mask link. he helps him out as a spooky gold ghost wolf and a cool knight skeleton and kinda serves as that games version of the owl fucker, but less annoying. It's implied he like died in a battle or something before he could pass on his skills (that regret is directly stated, not the cause of death) and by helping you he eventually is able to move on. shit's cool. The theory about him being just child majoras mask link turned into a stalfos because he got lost int he lost woods is fucking retarded though, he grew up there he's not gonna get lost.
