I'm not necessarily pro- or anti-therapy (although the ubiquitous lingo and armchair analysis online is tiresome), but there is something to be said for therapy making things so much worse if the patient is not honest with themselves and the therapist.

Many modern therapists are cowards and don't try to challenge their clients or have them re-evaluate their actions. I do agree with thinking the main issue for the Johma's is constantly lying to therapists.

Gonna throw out a hypothetical, imagine you have stomach ulcers and you go to a doctor. You lie about where you're feeling pain and demand anti-inflammitories since you think that'll fix it. the doctor trusts you and gets a script ready.
