I hope I’m not repeating myself but I now believe Nick’s accusations of corruption could hold some weight. It’s the one claim by Nick that seems to be plausible after what we have witnessed with the events and how they unfolded regarding the body cam footage release. The conduct of the Kandiyohi County prosecutor and judge is such that I fully expect the bodycam footage to mysteriously disappear or be “accidentally” wiped. They are just that corrupt and shameless.
Stopping the release of the footage the way it was done means that Nick would only have to bribe two very accessible people at most: the sheriff and/or the prosecutor. And the medium of exchange can be anything range of in-kind services or even money. Nick could offer to put some legal paperwork together for a friend or family member of the prosecutor saving them a lot of money. It could be a future donation to a campaign. Hell, it could be straight up cash in an envelope.
Originally I donated money to this cause because I thought it would be funny and I didn’t care if we got it or not. But now I really want it. The video needs to come out. This is now a battle for transparency and the affirmation of the rights of the average person in the judicial system. Because of some swinging cokehead nerd can violate your rights in a small town and undercut a judges orders, then you have no rights in this county, and likely any other county.
